Washington and Oregon would be the teams to leave Utah just expanded their stadium, bowled in one end zone, now holds over 50k. They are in SLC, decent market size, nice facilities, defending champs, stadium hosted an Olympic games, and recently was admitted to the AAU for college street cred. I don't think they're going to have any problems finding a conference, the Big 12 would take them in a minute.

Add San Diego State. Invite Baylor, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, and.............Texas Tech? Houston? We own everything west of the Sabine River.
We need to kill the Big 12, so the Big 10 and 12 do not kill the Pac-12. Oregon State's strength is the rivalry with the Northwest schools, California, and Stanford.
UCLA and USC leaving to form a national conference has been a dream for both schools since the 1950s. It was a bonehead idea then. It is still a bonehead idea.

If the remaining Pac schools don't panic, just siphon off UNLV and SDSU to get those TV markets, and try to hold it all together. If they start to scatter to Big10 and Big12 out of desperation, then it's over with WSU and OSU in the MWC. This whole thing makes me sick, all for greed and pure greed, nothing else. If uo and uw leave wsu and osu behind it would be a really sad message about our two states. Interesting to see if any higher ed leaders from Pac12 states or politicians are willing to stand up and try to hold these schools together.

Remember not so long ago when we were gonna be the pac 16? Then, we tried to just get Oklahoma and Texas a couple of years later to get to 14. But we balked, because of the Longhorn Network. Penny wise, and dollar foolish.

We need to get into Texas and the Kansas City and Oklahoma City markets. Baylor and Oklahoma State have a ton of money. Kansas has a great basketball team. Those three, San Diego State, and UNLV? And one other team?

I could not care less about this news.
I'm an Oregon State fan, and will cheer and support Oregon State no matter what conference they are in.

Form a superconference with the ACC - the Bicoastal Conference. Have a Pacific Division and and Atlantic Division. Play a couple of interdivisional games a year, play a conference championship game that alternates every year between Vegas and whatever place in their footprint the most Pacific division fans would travel to (probably Miami).
Maybe for some other sports do preseason tourneys for a week in SEC or BigTen country just to piss everyone off.

Utah is small time? Record attendance 52,724 (vs. Oregon, 2021) You really have some stadium size issues.

If this takes place will The beavs & the ducks be in the same conference? My thought: Look for Oregon to try to bump to the Big 10 as well. So, no.
