For what it's worth Giblin's profile picture on Twitter is still him in an Oregon State uniform so maybe he'll come back someday

The obvious answer is Giblin, but I was saddened to hear that Washburn left. Thought he was gonna be great.

Well Washburns father was a Major League player. Sometimes it is external things. Covid, State Mandates etc. We may never know all the reasons.

Jake Harvey must have suffered an early season injury with Fullerton. I haven’t checked their late season games, but Harvey didn’t have any plate appearances for a couple of months.

Washburn wanted to be a starter. Had he stayed, he would have gotten every opportunity to be one. He would have helped.
But he's got a ring. So it worked out for him.
Mendazona had his chance and was found wanting.
So, nobody really.

Mendazona had his chance and was found wanting. So, nobody really. The one guy that’s not here that I wish we had is Chase Watkins. He signed as a late rounder, but a solid lefty reliever would have really helped us this year. As far as the transfers, if they want to leave, that’s their choice. I don’t want any players that don’t want to be here.

George Mendazona - Senior at Lubbock Christian University (Division II) :
"one of the team's best at the plate. He had a batting average of .329, but really stood out in the walk category, where he led the team with 38, giving him an on-base percentage of .450...."

Washburn. Loved his game, guy has all the tools. Agree on Watkins as well. The way things have gone since 2020, we had some great kids and we barely got to know them or see them develop over a few seasons. 2020 shut down, 2021 not allowed in Goss, 2022 draft eligible and gone. Quite a contrast to the group who showed up for the 2016 season.

Just for the sake of conversation, imagine if we had a SS who hit over .200 (donahue) or a DH who hit double digit homeruns (sanchez). I think we make it to Omaha easily. No guarantee those numbers translate from the WAC/Big West to the PAC-12 but I'm betting they would've done as well or better than who we had in those spots.

Predicting is hard. Hindsight doesn’t consider the why’s. Some transfer for playing time. Others may not like it. Others may be homesick or have family issues. Really hard to transpose.
