Did anyone post this? If so, I missed it. Just like I'm missing much of my brain.

Unless there is a specific program they take that's only offered in the June period, I've often thought it was dumb to move these kids in three months before school even starts. Not sure when the Bridge program is offered. And maybe they get to go back home for a month or six weeks in August and in September before classes start.
I admit I don't know their exact schedule. Better to move them here in mid-August or just before Labor Day, when there are more students on campus, in town, and other activities to keep them busy.
I'm an old geezer and love the slow pace of Corvallis in the summer. Were I an 18-year-old, I might not feel the same. And I sure would have hated missing out on my final summer at home.
It's sad (to me) that intercollegiate athletics has become a 12-month enterprise. Kids need a break.
I expect other's gas mileage may vary, of course.

"I admit I don't know their exact schedule."
Usually an informed opinion carries the most weight. Why not learn their schedule, then get back to us.🏀 GO BEAVS!!

Tier 1 athletes (basketball/football) go through the BEST program during this time and they get credits for it. They are learning all the things to help them navigate the student athlete life. Basketball players get time off after the program. While they're here they are getting summer workouts in.

"my final summer at home" I'm sure that varies from individual to individual, but my final summer at home was taken up with working to accumulate some $$ for tuition and living expenses for college. I would have traded that for a scholarship and heading to Corvallis in June in a heartbeat. (P.S. That was a long time ago)

I also worked my last summer at home, and then had a blast at night playing baseball, going out with friends, hanging with family, etc. I helped coach a Little League team. But then again I lived in an 18 state so that may have been different, the 21-year-old drinking age puts a serious crimp on Corvallis entertainment for those 18-20. I suppose if they can leave in mid-July they still get a little summer and down time from their sport. To 411500, take a chill pill. It's pretty early in the day to get your knickers in a wad.

Good news Henry - I took my chill pill. More good news Henry. It's still helpful to know what your talking about before you start talking about it.
Try it sometime when your knickers aren't in a wad.🤠 GO BEAVS!!
