If you're not into other sports besides OSU-related, you can do what I do: Subscribe to Blue+Sports package 90% of the time, and switch to Orange when a Football game is coming up on ESPN (yeah like that ever happens), or when it's baseball postseason time. I find Blue has better non-cable channels on offer than Orange, so I like to keep it there. Switching between the two is super easy; you can do it whenever you want, and everything is pro-rated so your bill is the same. In fact, that reminds me, I need to switch back to Blue now. (Sigh, if only that could have waited a couple more weeks ...) I do enjoy and appreciate that Sling pro-rates packages. smart and keeps customers happy.

We just switched from Comcast internet to Verizon 5G home.....saved me like $40 a month and works great. Even paid to break my contract with Comcast. My issue with sling was the lack of the broadcast channels and not wanting to put a massive antenna on my house. Had Fubo for a while, but I would not call Fubo reliable. It wasn't great. Ultimately went with YouTubeTV because I love everything about it other than the absence of Pac-12 network. FYI a regular 'old school' TV antenna works just fine for HD broadcasts. I have an antenna I purchased about 20 years ago in my garage 'attic' Hooked up the HDTV to it and it's perfect... Tell me more. Brand etc. How far outside a good sized city are you?

I have Sling & a small flat antenna for locals. Sometimes you have to move the OTA antenna just right to get a station. I tried the OTA antenna at my partners house & got nothing. So it works "pretty good" but not for everyone. The kicker during football is that sometimes the games are on a smaller/not well known channel (is there one less well known than Pac 12?) In those cases I take the "free" 7 day sign up & cancel right after Love my all streaming channels Sling doesn’t carry local TV?

I’m on YouTubeTV, which is great. Lots of channels in the basic set up, and there are add-ons you can get if you are so inclined. And you have unlimited recording possibilities.
But it doesn’t carry Pac 12, not even as an add-on.
The cool thing about it is that it has the weight of YouTube (and therefore Google) behind it, so when ABC was going through contract negotiations and wanted to raise the price for YouTubeTV, ABC caved. How often do you see that with your cable/satellite TV providers?

Almost every affiliate is owned by Sinclair or ABC and follow the same script. Fear, Fluff, Fear, Fluff. Just hard to see the utility past maybe nostalgia?

Fear, Fluff, Fear, Fluff. Just hard to see the utility past maybe nostalgia? As someone who subscribes to Sling, loves most sports, and cannot use a TV antenna* for local channels, I can tell you that the reason to miss the big four channels is because pro football viewing is extremely limited. Get the NBC Sunday night game and the occasional ESPN games, but miss the Fox and CBS games. That's bad. But not bad enough (for me) to want to go back to cable. I like college football more and don't want to waste too much time on the tube. So...I sacrifice pro football. *I live in a valley away from the city and surrounded by stucco homes. Antennae don't work down here unless you want your house to be a military installation.

Being a huge Rockford Files/Bonanza/Big Valley fan I love it.

I got tired of paying the cable bill several years ago. Just buying what you want, when you want it, is cheaper than paying for all those channels that you never watch.

I quit Comcast/Xfinity on Saturday and they still haven’t closed out my account. Fairly typical for their customer service.
The TV product was great, X1, but bundled with internet (slow/crappy), home phone (don’t need or have) and I was paying $250/month. They had no interest in giving an existing and long term (20+ years) customer a good deal on unbundled TV. So adios.
The new setup:
CenturyLink Fiber internet: $65/month
Apple TV 4K- $169 at Costco (not needed because I have a smart tv already, but I prefer the UI and integration with all the other Apple stuff we have)
Streaming services:
YouTubeTV- $65/ month, kind of like basic cable, 85 or so channels, local channels, unlimited DVR Prime TV- included with Amazon prime Netflix- $22/month AppleTV+: included with Apple Premium subscription Disney+: $10/ month thru Verizon HBOMax- $15/month Will add Hulu or use someone else’s log in
Only missing Root Sports (Mariners) and P12 network. Who knows what the P12 future is.
I think I’m saving around $100+/ month and have much more flexibility.
So far, so good.

Thanks I can comment on the internet now because I switched to CenturyLink gig speed fiber last November. Pretty rock solid and plenty fast for the entire household to be on various streaming devices. Also, it never bogs down like the Comcast internet would everyday, 2x a day. www.centurylink.com/fiber/Because our home is 3 stories in total, the provided CenturyLink WiFi router packed into a closet out of sight didn't give a good signal throughout the house. We added a Netgear mesh set up and it's rock solid everywhere now.
