Interesting game to start off with facing UW. The other teams on our side include Cal and UCLA.....hopefully we can get past the hot doggies. I wouldn’t mind playing UCLA again to get some redemption

Interesting game to start off with facing UW. The other teams on our side include Cal and UCLA.....hopefully we can get past the hot doggies. I wouldn’t mind playing UCLA again to get some redemption Since their win (sweep) in Seattle on May 8 *, The "hot doggy" Huskies have not played a team with a current RPI of less than 110. Huskies non-conference strength of schedule is 267th, capped of with a wicked 4-game sweep this past weekend of the RPI #297 (the something colorado somethings). (btw Beavs NC SOS is 10th in all of D1) * wilkyisdashiznit wrote this about the Huskies sweep of UCLA: UCLA was giving away at bats, playing JonJon Vaughns in center over Carson Yates.
The Friday game was rained out. UCLA melted in the cold and wet weather.
In the more hitter friendly Husky Ballpark, Washington hit three home runs against Rajcic, plating four of the six runs that the Huskies scored against Rajcic.
In game two, Daylen Reyes committed an error (one of his two errors on the season) on what should have been a double-play, which allowed three Huskies to score. In the sixth, Luke Jewett hit a Husky, threw a wild pitch and balked. Washington scored the game winner on a ground ball to first. The error turned what should have been a 4-2 win into a 5-4 loss.
In game three, the Bruins, having used up all of their pitchers in the first two games, tried to stretch Alonza Tredwell past his 55-pitch limit, in which he normally excels. Treadwell gave up the game-tying base hit on pitch number 58 and the game-winning base hit on pitch number 61. ******************
Of course, "it's baseball" and Husky - Beav game could go any which way.

Hopefully with Seattle being colder and wetter than Corvallis, the dawgs will melt in the heat sooner. 🤞🏼

Huskies took the Stanford series 2-1 Huskies swept UCLA 3-0 Huskies swept USC 3-0 No way I take their team lightly. They beat two teams that we couldn’t....but you’re right ....It’s baseball

Huskies took the Stanford series 2-1 Huskies swept UCLA 3-0 Huskies swept USC 3-0 No way I take their team lightly. They beat two teams that we couldn’t....but you’re right ....It’s baseball Washington went to Sunken Diamond and won. Jared Engman outpitched Alex Williams through six. Washington took a 1-0 lead in the second on a 14-pitch infield single, walk and single. Washington singled again to load the bases with one out. But Williams recovered with a strikeout and flyout to end the threat. Raeth came on for Engman in the seventh, and Joey Dixon came on for Williams. Stanford tied it up at one in the eighth on single, single and two-out double. Dixon pitched a great seventh but fell apart in the eighth. He gave up a single, bunt, flyout, HBP, WP and single to put Stanford up 3-1. The runner on first stole second, advance to third on an error and scored an unearned run on a WP. Raeth got the first two outs in the ninth with ease. Then, Raeth gave up a homer, single, walk and single to put runners on the corners in a 4-3 ballgame, but the final batter flew out to center for a 4-3 Washington win. Stanford won on Saturday by going up 6-0 in the sixth before Washington scored two to make the final 6-2. In the rubber game, Stanford went up 7-1 in the fourth before double, single and double to make it 7-3. That stayed the score until the seventh. After Stanford pulled Quinn Mathews, who had pitched a gem, Uber came in and gave up an error, HR and walk. 7-5. Dixon came on and gave up four hits to the next five batters. 8-7 Washington with two on. Fleischli came on for Dixon and threw a wild pitch to put both runners in scoring position. Fortunately for Stanford, Drew Bowser was able to throw out a runner on the plate on a ground ball to keep it 8-7. Fleischli was able to induce a ground ball for the final out in the seventh. Stanford scored three in the eighth on a single, triple, error, walk and single. Washington was able to end the threat on a double play ball with runners on first and second. It stayed 10-8 into the eighth. Stanford tried to stretch Fleischli who gave up a single to start the ninth. Bruno came on and gave up walks to two of the next three batters to load the bases with one out. Tommy O'Rourke came on and gave up a single, HBP and WP to hand Washington an 11-10 win. Stanford's 1-2 starters are awesome, but the Cardinal do not have the world's best or deepest bullpen. After the Washington series, Stanford put Mathews into the bullpen full-time to give themselves more flexibility and replaced him with Dixon. The Cardinal have not lost since. Flatly, the Stanford that Washington saw is not the Stanford that won the Pac-12.
