Lebanon’s baseball and softball teams captured league titles this week! THAT doesn’t happen very often (first time). Congrats to Jeff, Marty and teams! Good luck at state.

I think they'll be the #1 seed. 5A doesn't have a lot if great baseball right now, especially after about the #6 seed. So Lebanon could go deep!

Very happy for coach Stolsig! I played with Jeff for Bill Croco. He was a year behind. NO ONE else outworked him then, and that work ethic continues. Both of my sons played varsity ball for him, too. He’s got great character. I believe I helped build that character because he had to catch me when I was on the bump! Poor guy. 🙂

As you may already know... Lebanon in the final vs CV.
CV upset Wilsonville... handily! I love it. Willy fans are some of the most arrogant in HS sports.
Unfortunately Lebanon SB lost 1-0 to Willy.

Proud of the kids on BOTH squads! The Wilsonville pitcher headed to Ann Arbor must be really good to blank the ladies from Lebanon. Bring it home, fellas!!

Yea, yea, yea. Maybe someday the old Valley League schools will play 6A.
Editorial comment - six classifications in Oregon is probably the stupidest decision ever made by the OSAA.

Ag….. I played in the Valley league, as did both my sons. McKay was built AFTER I graduated, and West Salem, after my youngest son. My daughter had to play in the Midwestern League (Eugene, Springfield, Coos Bay). Many parents didn’t allow their kids to participate. It was a tough, MORE than a few years.

My HS - Canby - is in the State 6A finals for the first time since 1960.
Former HS teammate has a son on the team as well.
I think I might have to head down to Volcanoes stadium to watch in person.

Jeff Stolsig's son, JJ, is the head-coach at Canby! Pretty special day for them. My boys played with JJ in high school. He LEARNED his work ethic, and the importance of integrity from his dad. Hey, RGeorge..... there is a gentleman in Lebanon with the intitials RG....in fact, R George. Many of you know him. Both his sons played for Casey at OSU.....ONE, on a National Championship team. His grandson is a standout SOPH on the Lebanon team. As much as ANYONE, he is responsible for much of the success Lebanon has in baseball and football. He's 70 years old, and STILL involved, and going strong! Another "good guy."

I thought that he was done after community college? I went to Oregon State with Ryan, but I don't remember him playing. As you probably know, one of my cousin's sons plays for Lebanon, so I have been getting updates from you, the Georges and my family. Great stuff.
