Taking in the moment before he squats down for the first time. Watching a kid’s dream come true will make you a little dusty

Standing O from the O’s fans. Seventh inning triple is his first major league. Great start!

It is sweet seeing him in Orange!
But he had such boyish charm when he played for us. My wife loved his red cheeks. Now, he’s all grown up. So cool!

Adley is DH’ing today. I guess they wanted the catcher hitting .139 in the lineup.

Most catchers don't catch an afternoon game following a night game.

Most catchers don't catch an afternoon game following a night game. Depends on the catcher. Only three MLB catchers played more than 120 of 162 games in 2021. Unless there are extenuating circumstances, like a playoff race or in the playoffs, catchers almost universally get afternoon games off, or play DH or perhaps first base, after catching a night game. Especially when it's 92 degree, like it was today in Baltimore.

I think he could have pulled it off. 24 years old, but a 24-year-old, who just recovered from a terrible injury that took him more than two months to recover from. Discretion is the better part of valor.
