B5th Forrester grounds out, 1 away Pitching change from Hahn to Austin Meckler grounds out to first, 2 away. Melton reaches on fielding error. Rowe says it was hard but seemed pretty standard fielding to me. Boyd flies out on second pitch, 3 away.
Beavs 4-1

B6th
Logan walked with a patient 7 pitch AB Fuchs doubles on first pitch, Logan advanced to third. Dukart singles! Fuchs to third and Logan trots home.
5-1 Beavs no outs with runners on first and third. Note: I prefer this bullpen so far.
Pitching change, Aldrich in for Han. WP, Dukart to second and Fuchs comes home a hero. 6-1 Beavs Dernedde walked on 5 pitches. Runners on 1st and 2nd. Bazzana slap hits into a fields choice. Dernedde advanced to 2nd, Dukart out at third. 1 away Forrester shows why hes called big country! 3 run homer to right center field! 9-1 Beavs Pitching change Jewett in for Aldrich. He had a bad outing yesterday. Meckler flys out to left. Oyama got a really good jump and showed his speed. 2 away Melton flys out to left. 3 away and off to the 7th.
Beavs about wore out the PBP fingers on that one.

Melton is amazing! It looks like he doesn't drive though the ball. Just hits it and calls it good and it goes 400ft. /photo/1

Dernedde with a sweet stroke. Yeah, but he got hosed by blue not giving him the triple. If only there were some new technology to see what happened during the play. Idk how he can see the ball and the runner at the same time in that corner lol. Agree it was sketchy call at the very least.

Here we are with at the closing game of the season. The servers dead last play by play man here later to the game than a NASCAR driver who turned right to get to the track. First 4 inning summary: 1St - Pfennigs came out hot and knocked down the 3 of the first 4 baters giving up a second pitch double. Bevers offense came out aggressive with a lead off 10 pitch single from Baz. Forester got in the ation with his own single advancing Baz to third. Meckler kept it up with a RBI single to left. Melton got his strike out of the way followed by an RBI single up the middle from the fully healed Boyd. Beavs 2-0 2nd – UCLA got a piece of Jake who gave up 2 hits and a sacrifice RBI. Beavs go down in order. Beavs 2-1 3rd – Pfennigs stays strong and cleared the UCLA batters out after giving up a lead off double. This got pretty exciting with Gavin Logan getting an unassisted tag out at home when the dangerous Curialle dribbled an infield single out. Really felt some momentum building for the Beavs and in the crowd with that exciting bit of D. Forrester strolls out and nearly blasts one out to center which sucked but then Meckler walked and Melton showed Forrester how to hit it a bit harder with a 2 RBI homer! Beavs 4-1 4th – Low drama as UCA goes down in order. Dernedde doubles with a ground rule to right…some small drama over if the it should have been a triple, came to nothing as Baz grounded out next AB for the third out. 5th – Jake walks Oyama who then gets gunned down trying to steal second, real nice throw from Gavin. Yates and Schrier go down in order. With that summary we proceed to the regular format. I will keep it going until the game ends or I head to my oldests baseball game. Gavin's throw clearly beat the runner, but it was high and off the bag. It was not a nice throw, but it was a fast throw. Gavin was really lucky that Baz was covering, because I am not sure that Dernedde would have gotten to that ball. Baz did a good job of catching and very quickly applying the tag. Also, the Beavers are lucky that Oyama performed one of the worst five slides I have seen this year. A good slide, and Oyama is in easy. Oregon State is doing the little things well so far for the first time this series, and UCLA is not.

I was radio only at the time and Parker was pretty complimentary of Logan on the throw.

Good timing to get another guy who can go 80+ back Not just throw 80+, but shut down UCLA pretty handily. Its kinda funny watching them struggle with that 12-6 curve Jake likes to throw. I can't remember if it was the Thursday or Friday guy that liked that pitch too. Hell maybe both.

What are the odds that both Dernedde and Fuchs would double today?

For those who were saying that our pitching is no match for Ucla’s, Pfennigs would like a word with you.
