I have a hard time pinning these losses on the pitching staff. I think it's much more on the shoulders of the hitters. But you're welcome to your opinion. Hmmmm... so two late 1 run deficits that turn into 8th inning 3 run, game over, deficits is on the offense? I'll keep my opinion and always open to others. But as both "sides" of this team have flaws, 1 run games give a team a chance, hope. Being down 3 with 3 outs not so much. Both pitching and hitting had their positive and negative moments tonight. One thing that jumps out at me is that in the first 52 games of the season, the pitching staff averaged 1.1 (HBP+WP). There were 6 of these miscues tonight. Plus, a low number of Strikeouts (5).

I didn’t realize until a comment by the announcers yesterday that UCLA had the number 1 recruiting class in the nation last year. Some of there pitching class were from thst recruiting class who pitched against us. They played some freshman in this series. Stacked from last years recruits.

I think it’s because of the competition we’re facing these days. The pitchers are doing more to try to keep the ball from being pounded and they miss.

seems like the best case with Weber is he catches lightening or just makes sure there is backup so we can have Smith and Logan both playing as we have a functioning catcher. Maybe he isn’t ready to be behind the plate but is ready to hit? Parker seemed to suggest that he has a great attitude and is a team player. His rehab has been coming along fine and he's ready to hit. But he needs to sharpen his skills behind the plate. The trouble with playing him at DH is that once we brought in Logan to pinch hit for Smith, there's no one behind him if Logan should get hurt. Right that was a desperation move I think. Unless there’s no other move you always want to have a game ready backup in the dugout

Well I waited until this Morning. Dissapointed but we play hard and so do the Bruins. Seems their bullpen is better right now. Two Nightscin a row in the ninth. I give them credit. When we got up 3-1 I felt ok now we are aggressor. They responded immediately.. Savage is good and they play loose. We need to win Today and be seeded as high as possible. Maybe we can find the magic again that ucla now has.

One thing is for certain. Stanford is the regular season champs. I just threw up in my mouth a little typing that!!!! Oh, what I wouldn't give to play these teams earlier in the season! The team has to learn to deal with losses, and it looks like they aren't learning how to handle them well. This late in the season, it's tough to regroup and rebound. We'll see. Their season depends on whether they can get their swagger back or not. Really not great to play the young super talented teams once they are figuring it out lol

Guys like Caleb Hamilton, KJ Harrison, and I think I remember madrigal saying he caught a little at lower levels.

How did weak UW swept UCLA? #2 OS can’t even beat them after 2 games. Late season collapse just about official. Furd just won Pac-12 title tonight because they own a tiebreaker. Was 3 games ahead with 5 games left. Wow Why Weber with no game experience in tonight? UCLA was giving away at bats, playing JonJon Vaughns in center over Carson Yates. The Friday game was rained out. UCLA melted in the cold and wet weather. In the more hitter friendly Husky Ballpark, Washington hit three home runs against Rajcic, plating four of the six runs that the Huskies scored against Rajcic. In game two, Daylen Reyes committed an error (one of his two errors on the season) on what should have been a double-play, which allowed three Huskies to score. In the sixth, Luke Jewett hit a Husky, threw a wild pitch and balked. Washington scored the game winner on a ground ball to first. The error turned what should have been a 4-2 win into a 5-4 loss. In game three, the Bruins, having used up all of their pitchers in the first two games, tried to stretch Alonza Tredwell past his 55-pitch limit, in which he normally excels. Treadwell gave up the game-tying base hit on pitch number 58 and the game-winning base hit on pitch number 61. Weather, a lineup in flux, ballpark quarks, uncharacteristic errors and poor coaching decisions. Y'know baseball. A bunch of posters were complaining about cold and wet, but it usually seems to me that Oregon State flourishes in the cold and wet, especially against the UCLAs of the world. Oregon State can still save this thing with a win tomorrow, but Saturday is becoming more and more of a must-win to save the season. Really hope you're right, the season could be a nightmare finish unless they start getting after it, TODAY. However, I'm just not seeing it now, pitching, can't get a critical out when needed, hitting, we'll, most of them are looking somewhat tentative or worse, uncomfortable at best. Hope is forever but given the last 4 games I'll give them a 30% chance today and hope to hell I'm wrong!! GO BEAVS

Two of their non-pitching 2021 recruits include Oyama (grad transfer) and Schrier, both of whom have been in the thick of it this weekend. Also in that class were two outfielders: Malakhi Knight (from Marysville WA , and a de-commit from OSU) - hasn't played since 4/4. Injury. Nick McClain - Matt's younger brother. No action this season. Injury I suppose.

If Smith and Logan can't gun down the UCLA guys putting anyone else back there would be a slaughter. Two full innings potentially with no real catcher is a bold move.

Hunter is on 10 days' rest, too. The pair can eat up a lot of innings. Oregon State scores at least seven runs in a laugher. I don't know who throws on Wednesday, though, if Hunter throws tonight.
