The thing about this quacks squad is they battle late in games. I've seen countless box scores where they are down, and have late inning rallies to win games. They've been doing it all season. We are a top to bottom more talented team, but they can hit, and they don't go down easy.....it's a big test for our midweek guys......where the hell is Lattery?

rgeorge, The ducks are using 6 to 7 pitchers in mid week games.Nobody pitches more than 2 innings. Also their bad ERA guys are their weekend starters, some of their relievers have decent numbers.(ERA,hits, opponent BA, etc.) We are going to know a lot more about our pitchers & team over the next 2 weeks. I'm mildly confident, but its baseball so nothing that 'could happen' would surprise me.(Who predicted the Cougs winning both series against UA & UO on the road?) Answer: Nobody. IIRC the 2018 College World Series Champions lost 2 out of 3 to @utah & @arizona. Both those road trips await the 2022 Beavers....... Oh the irony. Losing the series to AZ in 2018 at the time was something that was not a big surprise. They were good, and if not for a meltdown on the mound late in game 3, we would have won that series. Utah on the other hand was another matter. I think they were something like 4-14 in league at the time, their head coach had been suspended for weeks. I sat in the stands in complete disbelief as did most in the stadium, including the 3 Utah fans in attendance. It had to be the altitude impacting our pitchers stuff...or we were tipping our pitches and they had figured it out...or something. They just couldn't have been that much better than us...could they? Salt Lake is a tough place to play, we better show up ready to go. Utah was 1-2 in the Pac-12, because they were the second team with a bye. The Utes were 4-18 overall. The thing that threw things off IMO was that it was Holy Week, so the series started on a Thursday. Plus Madrigal was still out from his injury in Surprise. Game three was Fehmel's only loss on the season. If you're going to have one bad game, it might as well be against Utah. Game one was tight with some bad baserunning; poor hitting in clutch situations; and bad pitching, when it counted most. Tying run was stranded at third in the ninth.

Watched a bit of the Yucks. They hit and we better have decent Pitching. Not sure we want to be in hit fest with these guys.

Watched a bit of the Yucks. They hit and we better have decent Pitching. Not sure we want to be in hit fest with these guys. Based on P12 Stats page, both teams have played 39 games. Conference Rank listed in front. Runs: 1. OSU 329 2. uofo 313
Hits 2. uofo 429 3. OSU 427
2B 2. OSU 88 8. uofo 69
3B 2. OSU 15 7. uofo 9
HR 1. uofo 57 8. OSU 33
We have 25 more doubles and triples combined. They have 24 more hr's. I would really like to see a breakdown of where their HR's were hit to see if there's any correlation to their ballpark. I don't know the dimensions or prevailing wind patterns to know if that might play a significant factor.
WSU hit 8 HR's in eugene over the weekend and since they only had 20 total coming into the series it makes me think there might be something to the park that lends itself to the long ball.

I'd have to go back and look, but something in my stomach tells me they hit a few out last year against us. So I fear their home run power. But I think our pitchers are better at limiting that kind of damage than a lot of the other teams, so it will be a good matchup. We'll see soon enough.

Very mysterious statement. It's an hour and 7 minutes before Tuesday game time, and I see that Jared Hunter is Starting. Since it's NOT Lattery, I really do WANT to Know.

If we moved our outfield fences in 100 feet…we’d hit 53 HR’s too!

If we moved our outfield fences in 100 feet…we’d hit 53 HR’s too! Hate to break it to you they are almost identical: PK*.... Left: 335 ft Center: 400 ft Right: 325 ft Goss... Left: 330 ft Center: 400 ft Right: 330 ft Both very unorthodox setup... Goss E to SE (HP to CF) and PK is more SE to E... PK about 170-180 ft higher in elevation. *I believe those are the updated dimensions?
