Beavers are a good pitching-no hitting team. Lol. Just making fun of my own, earlier comments. Good win. But 4 hits? Agreed Beavs are in a current hitting funk - but remember, tonight's lineup was one in which arguably their best hitter, was replaced by arguably their _____ _____ .

Nuke Recap:
Pfennigs is back with a good 17 pitch outing. Wheeler back with some good hitting Townsend with probably his best outing of the season. Ferrer pitched like himself, what an addition. Brown is a real closer, 4th save.

Our much maligned pitching staff is second in ERA to UCLA.(Pac 12 stats only) UCLA 3.36 ERA in 12 games. OSU 3.49 In 15 games Arizona 4.14 in 16 games Stanford 4.71 in 15 games Getting Pfennigs will give us a 7th arm, an arm that can get it done against Pac 12 hitters.(Hjerpe, Kmatz, Lattery, Sebby, Ferrer, & Brown) If we get Pfennigs and one or two more pitchers going, we should be in good shape in the 2nd half of the season. Hope the bats heat up though, that'll make games easy with the current pitching.

Not much good to say about the hitting. However, Bazzana actually did drive a ball, the first in quite a while. Donkey? Looked like he is back then 3 SO. The really good news is I don't think we walked anyone. That is quite amazing.

Yeah I forgot about Hunter......nice catch. I like what I'm seeing out of him in those mid week starts. As far as Boisvert, he seems like he has potential, needs to get a little more control of the strike zone. Out of the trio that got "lit up" in Nevada (Grewe & Hibbard) he looked like the best of that bunch.

We’re at almost 40 innings without a walk That was also his first start as a beav. You probably won’t find many beav relievers that lit it up their first try.

Boisvert had a rough outing at Nevada, but his arm and stuff seemed decent in that game. Which means he gets a few innings "here & there." The other two guys(Hibbard & Grewe) need more practice & development before seeing game action.

The really good news is I don't think we walked anyone. That is quite amazing. We didn't walk anybody today......again. Which is amazing. Nuke says almost 40 innings without a walk in another post on this thread. I wouldn't have believed it was possible after all the walks, wild pitches, & hit batters last year. Abel is gone though & he was a major culprit, but not the only one. Dorman deserves credit for the direction the pitching staff is headed, they are doing their job with some lackluster offense behind them.

Not much from the O. The Dirtbag Pitching has been solid. Cold weather? I think they are throwing their best at us right now. They do have some really good pitchers. That was not their best. But, they've had some injuries/illness(?) that have limited some. The difference tonight was BB. They had some that cost them. Then maybe the weather/temp. They pissed on a few balls that could have left the yard at 55+ degrees. Solid team, hard to see them as a .500 club.

The last walk was Hibbard walking Brown (Portland cleanup hitter) on four pitches in the eighth with first base open.

It was cold out there, coldest game of the year at Goss. I counted 3 batted balls in play that just sounded weird, sort of like you wondered if the aluminum had cracked on contact. 3 runs on 4 hits I don't worry about. It wasn't a very user friendly night. Should be a whopping 5 degrees warmer tomorrow. Our guys will put some runs up Friday and Saturday. Oh yeah, LB's two pitchers were very good tonight.
