Gress via Daschel....So Taya is out. Maybe because of degree? Definitely choosing to play, just not here.

Even prior to all of the transfer outs, it was pretty obvious she wouldn’t be returning. She’s not a WNBA caliber player, but I’d assume she could have a solid overseas career should she choose.
Would have been nice to have her experience and depth, but I certainly see why she wants to move on.
She’s been a great ambassador for the OSU program. Very lucky to have had her for the past five years.

Rueck has is work cut out. Losing brown, Taylor, kampschroeder, corosdale, codding, Adams, mack is not going to be easy to fill. I will predict the record will be worse this coming year.

That’ll solely depend on the portal. There’s a lot of guards in the portal who would be upgrades over Greta, Emily, and Téa, but we have to land them. For improvement over last season, we’ll need 2-3 guards who are Pac-12 ready and probably at least 1 forward/post who is ready. It’ll take time and the right players to improve though.

But, a 4 year player with over 100 games, not a grad transfer situation... Taya choosing not to finish her career here is a big slap in SR's face. In my opinion anyway. Ouch. The (4) recruits can't be "misses". Not one has seen highly competitive, experienced D1 play, but they better be ready fast. Unless some true talented experience comes in the portal it could be an ugly learning curve. And, with too many minutes I fear for the injury bug hitting.

She had a pandemic year to stay and play here.

Jesus C people rueck lost Brown and Taylor need a lot more than guards.

Jesus C people rueck lost Brown and Taylor need a lot more than guards. Obviously, but if Jones and Brown came in ready to start on a top-16/20 team, it’s not outlandish for fans to think there’s a chance Gardiner and Beers will be able to provide similar contributions in year one. Mitrovic showed some promise late in the year as well - even against UCLA. As I mentioned, if you can add one more impactful player to that group and one more for depth, it’s a solid crew.

We have lost a lot of scoring to graduation or transfer off of a team that was offensively challenged last season. The freshman are going to have to step up early and they need to find a couple of double digit scorers in the portal, or else TVO is going to have to carry the scoring load even more then last season.

I believe Taya wanted to become an occupational therapist. Not sure if that is still her plan, but Oregon State does not have an OT school IIRC.
I think it was also posted that she was accepted to some graduate program at Stanford.

Unless OSU has a graduate program the player covets, it makes no sense to stay as a graduate. Getting at least some grad school covered elsewhere seems very smart - and expected. I’m a little surprised she wants to keep playing as a grad student, but it certainly makes good economic sense. Hope her portal options line up with her career goals!

As such, she can go anywhere without penalty. She is a grad transfer. A "slap in the face" after she has already invested five years in the program? lol Not sure how even you can come up with this line of BS.
