We know Schultz is out. Valencia is actually wrestling in the Mexico Nat'l team trials this afternoon in Guadalajara. Probably doesn't impact Sunday - and he's listed in the probable line-up on ASU's site (though Shultz is mentioned as well). It's also MMA Night, so there's that. thesundevils.com/news/2022/1/27/wrestling-hosts-25-oregon-state-hosts-mma-night.aspxDon Frye? Dan Severn? Taking me back to my early UFC fanboy days lol. 50% chance Frye takes a swing at Tito. ASU Probable Lineup 125: #4 Brandon Courtney (14-1): '21 NCAA Runner Up, '20 NWCA All-American 133: #4 Michael McGee (14-2): 3x NCAA qualifier, Pac-12 '21 bronze 141: Cleveland Belton (0-2)/Ethan Pickren (3-7) 149: #9 Kyle Parco (14-1): NCAA '21 All-American (6th) 157: #3 Jacori Teemer (12-0): NCAA '21 All-American (4th) 165: #8 Anthony Valencia (13-1): Valencia: 2x All-American, pursuing a spot on Team Mexico 174: Ryan Rochford (4-5) or Zane Coleman (8-8) 184: Josh Nummer (3-9) or Jake Ortiz (0-3) 197: #11 Kordell Norfleet (8-2): '21 NCAA All-American, 3x Pac-12 Champion HWT: #2 Cohlton Schultz(12-0) or Chad Porter (5-5): Schultz: 4th at '21 NCAAs Oregon State Probable Lineup: 125 #17 Brandon Kaylor (15-2): '21 NCAA Qualifier, 2x Pac-12 bronze @ 125 133 #13 Devan Turner (16-4): 2x Pac-12 Champ @ 133, 3x NCA Qualifier 141 #14 Grant Willits (18-4): 2x Pac-12 Champ @ 141, 3x NCAA Qualifier 149 #28 Cory Crooks (10-5): Former Sun Devil, bronze at Pac-12 Championships, NCAA at-large bid 157 #16 Hunter Willits (9-4): 3x Pac-12 silver medalist, 3x NCAA Qualifier 165 Matthew Olguin (8-8) -or- Mason Reiniche (6-4) Olguin: '21 Pac-12 bronze 174 #28 Aaron "Mateo" Olmos (13-6) 184 #13 Trey Munoz (17-2): Former Sun Devil, '21 Pac-12 silver (174), '21 NCAA Qualifier 197 Ryan Reyes (7-4): Pac-12 runner up (184), NCAA Qualifier HWT #9 Gary Traub (15-4): Ohio State transfer, NCAA Qualifier

I like OSU's chances.... Everything will have to fall into place and there is always something unexpected to happen. In simple terms, if we can keep from getting bonused but can pick up some bonus at ASU's weak spots - 141, 174, 184 and HWT - then I t think we pull it off. ASU has lost before while winning 6 of the 10 matches. I would really like to see Kaylor knock off Courtney.

Kaylor has closed the gap on Courtney and Willits almost pulled it off. We were literally 1 point or one takedown away from winning this dual. McGee is very good ... that guy has taken it to another level. ASU got the tough close wins they needed. Not sure what's up with Reyes. He was getting manhandled. He just doesn't seem like the same guy as last year when he wrestled tough all season and qualified for the NCAA. Maybe 197 is too big for him.

Maybe it happened too fast and this is where he's at right now. It ain't easy to gain 10pounds of muscle, but he needs to.

Completely dominated DT. Everything else pretty much matched my expectations going in as far as results are concerned. Kaylor is oh so close. He's definitely AA capable. It's really too bad we don't have Tanner Harvey this year, wonder if he could have been an option at 97. Cal Poly on Friday. Looking forward to Munoz vs Bernie Truax.

Spoke with Harvey about a month or so ago. Sounds like his knee surgery went well and he is hard at PT. Medical Redshirt and plans to be back next season. He is big, pretty sure he was/is slated for 197.

Man that was so fun to watch. Just tore through everyone.

Is everyone coming back next year considering last year was a free year and some will graduate? Willits? Olmos? Harvey is a beast... My understanding is that he was the toughest one in the room pre-injury. Looking forward to seeing him next year!

That's it to graduation. We will see what transfers add and subtract.

Haven't seen Shaner wrestle much this year or get spot starts like last year. Injured? I would expect him to step in at 133 next year.

It's gotta be a tough decision. Not only opportunities for work, but most bodies don't hold up well after 6 years of D1 folkstyle wrestling. Freestyle is much easier, without the mat wrestling.
