Not being 100%, plus a bunch of missed games due to covid would lead me to believe she will redshirt, regardless of surgery being needed or not.

Someone can correct me if there has been changes, but I believe for a player to be eligible for a medical hardship redshirt, they must have suffered the injury in the first half of the season (which she has) and she has to play in less than 30% of the teams games. Taylor has played in 9 games which means the Beavs would need to play 31 games for her to play in less than 30%. In a likely Covid shortened season, it is doubtful the Beavs reach 30 games. In either case Taylor has 2 more years because of the Covid year last season, and I seriously doubt she would want to stick around 3 more years.

SR interview said it’s a matter of pain. Needs to rest.

That is positive . I have had a shoulder injury for years( torn rotator cuff ), and I can ‘function’. but have very limited natural range - plus, am susceptible to additional dislocations - which are quite painful. Seems like having to play a position that requires raising the arms for rebounds - with people pounding on you … would be quite difficult and could lead to more damage . The surgery for this injury has improved considerably year over year, but I try to avoid surgery - if I can . Good luck to Taylor and whatever they decide the best approach will be! Go Beavers !

Wouldn’t you have to assume is is done for the year. If she plays one more game I think she wouldn’t qualify for a medical redshirt…I’m thinking kat might know something about that!!

It might depend of whether she believes she has a chance at a pro career....If that is her plan, then she may not want to spend an extra year at OSU....
I don't know if this has been discussed here before or not. But, personally, I don't see her as a pro prospect, even for Europe or Australia. But I'm interested in what others here on the Board think about her post-OSU basketball future.... GO BEAVS!!

Probably not an WNBA player but I didn’t think Heberd was either and she’s there. I think she at least will have a nice career in Europe. Also remember with the extra Covid year she has 5 full years at OSU already. 6 years is a long time for college career.

Taylor shot 58% as a freshman, shot 56% last year and in her 9 games this year was shooting 65% from the floor. She’s very efficient.
