That's going to hurt. It will give others a chance to raise their level of play, and she needs to do what is best to heal in the long run anyway.

Figured and feared this was the case.
As I mentioned previously, she had her shoulder operated on in the offseason and was not cleared for contact until late October if I recall correctly.
Wonder if this is her other shoulder?
Should be able to redshirt, as she has only played in nine games. Not sure how much that will mean with her already having the extra COVID year, though.

Well this just sucks. Next player up.

Jelena is going to need to step up, good thing she appears to be improving quickly. She is a very big 6' 9" and as she learns to keep her arms straight up will become more of a defensive force. Her size alone causes opponents to alter their shots. On offense she can pass the ball and I really think her shot is going to come around. It would help if her teammates learn to pass to her up high and she learns to keep it up there.
So far I've seen Jelena, Kennedy, Ellie, and Taya at the 5 this season. It may come down to filling the 5 by committee and Kennedy may not get much time at the 4.

Next man up, and that is Jelena. Jelena is getting better every game. We all may be surprised by her progress throughout this season. I'm encouraged from what I have witnessed in the last 2 games against quality opponents. We really miss Taylor's rebounding and her points at the rim. Jelena and Kennedy will have to improve in the scoring department at the rim. We are a pretty good defensive team when Jelena is on the floor, and suspect we will get better as the season progresses.

My sense is that Kennedy’s shoulder hasn’t been right for most of her OSU career, and I think someone has said as much here a while back. Better she gets right rather than gutting it out.

We need her for WSU WE HAVENT HAD ANYBODY WHO HAS ANY PosT MOVES FILL FOR HER. Brown tends to not want to be agrresive close to a rim. Mitrovic tends to drop her ball down and dribble dribble till she is stripped. Jones is our best post up? Ellie has the best post moves of our girls but at 6’3 with a great outside shot she isn’t our best low post defender. You’d think Taylor can give us a few minutes for post points the other girls do the rest? I’m not a doctor so who knows. Both Taylor and Brown are foul prone. Oh well Wsu has a couple up and coming posts that will try to foul us out. WSU WILL BE ANOTHER rough game. We need a sweep! Go beavs!

Oh well Wsu has a couple up and coming posts that will try to foul us out. WSU WILL BE ANOTHER rough game. We need a sweep! Go beavs! WSU leading rebounder/shot blocker is Murekatete (6' 3" JR). This season 7.4 rpg and about 2 blocks per game (starting, and averaging just 23 minutes per game). She also leads the team in PF. In 16 games she's fouled out 3 times and reached (4) PF 3 times. In the WSU - OSU game last year at Gill (double OT loss for Beavs), she fouled out but played 32 minutes and grabbed 9 rebounds. Hopefully Brown/Mitrovic can put her in the fouled-out column, before one of them picks up 4 or 5. With the Cougs it's all about Charlisse Ledger-Walker, who has taken 27% of the teams shots this season. By comparison, TVO leads the Beavs at 20% of the total shots taken by the team.
