This one? /photo/1 I see. I focused on remainder of the year. But he did say indefinitely. We’ll see.

Not really sure why we're reading so much into this. It's a player putting his personal health before basketball. That means not playing, practicing, committing however many+ hours a week to something that keeps him from focusing on his well-being. What would the point be to be around the team, go to games and practices, etc. if he's trying to take time to work on himself? Then he would just be spending the same amount of time he would normally be doing just to not play. Maybe we need to remember that basketball isn't always priority number 1 and shouldn't be. Let him take his time and do what's best for him without reading into it as a sign of where the program is at FFS.

Who knows what is really going on?! Gianni, inside the locker room, etc.
But, this program lost key post season contributors after an E8 run. The staff simply can't recruit HS talent. And, I'm not sure I've ever seen an E8 team take a nosedive such as this program.
If this program isn't close to being "in shambles" then I'm not sure of the definition. A team just doesn't come into a new season on that type of roll and fizzle this badly if all is well behind the scenes.
What ever Gianni's specific situation is really none of our biz.

Gianni leaving for personal mental health reasons makes you skeptical of the coaching? That’s weird Could have nothing to do with the coaching. Could have nothing to do with the state of the program. Could be that he is happy with the program and it’s just a girl or a family problem. Could be. I would hope that the coach and the team would be the support for any young man going through such troubles. The team would be where he could fit in and feel at home. So I’m skeptical. I could be very wrong, but either way, I’m not happy with the message that it sends. We won't know if this is a Malcolm Duvivier situation or a Sammy Straughter (granted a different sport) situation for a year or so it appears. One of them never came back, the other did. Personally I'll take what he wrote at face value and won't worry about it. If he needs a break, fine, if he's done, fine. I'm not sure we need to know the details.

In fact, I encourage you to do so. And I sincerely hope that I'm trying to read too much into it. It just feels wrong to me.
