I hope to hear soon whether the game will be played and hope NOT to hear that fans will be barred from attending. That game could be a great way to turn around this team’s fortunes if we can come out on top. We need a big crowd and we need the team to come out with energy; they certainly should have the motivation.
If the team has been able to use its scout team to stay in game form and has been able to continue the learning process over the unplanned dead-period, we could see a good performance. A win could give them a boost to their confidence and pave the way for a good finish to the season. Had we not had games canceled to this point, we almost certainly would have had one conference loss (Stanford) and easily could have lost all four if the team has not progressed (as they seemed to do in their last games in Hawaii).
Arizona looked beatable against WSU this weekend.
Thursday is huge for this team!

My understanding is that pretty much only the Frosh have stayed Covid free. So no, the team has not been practicing together. However the word is they have been kind of living in the gym, so we will see how it works out if the rest of the team can get some negative tests.

Arizona plays ugly, but I think their defense will give OSU fits. Exactly not the kind of team you want to play after a shutdown.

Well unfortunately as beaveragain mentioned the team has not been able to practice during this 3 week break due to Covid issues and the Christmas week break, and even if fans are allowed to attend I wouldn't expect any more than about half of the normal sized crowd to show up and brave this current Omicron Variant. I do agree that Arizona looks beatable after losing to USC and struggling against WSU but the bottom line is they have been playing while we haven't even been able to practice let alone play a game recently and so a big advantage to Arizona here.

I would agree with you on attendance dwindling and would guess under a 1,500 in attendance. Not just because of Omicron but because some have mailed this season in already. No excitement here like in the past years. I feel bad for these players that attendance may drop off so quickly like you are expecting.
So you are somewhat hedging that fans may not be attending the rest of the year, interesting you have gotten to that point.

Cate Reese has been the star for Arizona in recent games. It seems to me that we ought to be playing our best post-defender against her (Kennedy Brown). I think that’s Kennedy and that she should start even if it means starting in place of Taylor. She has the skills to score a lot more and, as she gets more minutes, I think we’ll see that happen.
It will be interesting to see what Arizona players are back for this game. Scott was saying that Pennington at point guard makes them look a lot more like last year’s team; her return could make tomorrow’s game a lot more challenging. The other player that will make things tough for us is Ware, who is a force on the inside.

Pueyo has been stepping up recently. I kept expecting more of her. Showed plenty of potential as Fr., last year and most of this year just hasn't been producing much. Also Connor has had some good games. UA is a streaky 3 point shooting team, but they get hot occasionally.

So the Arizona State game is cancelled for Saturday. If the pac-12 is serious about making up games, they should try to find a way to play a makeup game Sunday or Monday for the Beavs. If the Pac-12 doesn't (and I don't expect they will) the Beavs should try to find an opponent they could play for their last non-conference game.
The Beavers are going to have a hard time finding a rhythm, and the freshman and new additions are going to have a tough time growing in the system if they don't play. I know much of this is out of their control.
