Thanks for sharing. Mik was one of the most outstanding people we've had at Oregon State, both on and off the court. I'm glad she is playing the game she loves, but that pay is pretty poor. She will definitely be a success in life though!

What a rough year. I'm happy that she was able to make it through it and that it is better now.

What a rough year. I'm happy that she was able to make it through it and that it is better now. And, as I read earlier a story (like many others trying to reach a dream) many kids would benefit from reading. So many cruise thru life, athletics, and expect it to always be that way. Some don't expect adversity, and many don't know how to deal with it. Good for her, WNBA or not.

Thanks for sharing. Love Mik!
I kind of figured this would be a key for her entree into the WNBA :

With her drive and talent, I think she will eventually play in the WNBA.

Seeing Mik happy (and playing) is great to read about - thanks for posting it. Money isn't everything. If you're good at what you do (and she sure is), the right people/situation will find you and the money will follow.
Props to Syd for giving Mik some very valuable advice.

With her drive and talent, I think she will eventually play in the WNBA. I hope so. 12 teams x 12 roster spots = 144 WNBA players. Makes for a very elite, exclusive club with a lot of extremely talented and capable players on the outside looking in.

Hopefully she can make a roster this year. If not, the WNBA is really not a league that tends to add young players several years out of college. Sami Whitcomb took almost a decade to break thru after being a training camp casualty year after year, but she was definitely an exception.
