2A? Hidden Valley is 4A. Well, his cousin left our wrestling program also, so I guess no Vidlaks like to stay here Oregon 4A is a Washington 2A. To be precise, Hidden Valley was 3A during SV’s time there. They have since moved to 4A after his departure

I was lucky enough to have attended practices in fall camp. In drills Sams talent was obvious. There was a difference between his throws and other QB’s. Including Nolan. But he obviously was new and didn’t have grasp of playbook. He didn’t get a ton of time in short 11 on 11’s or scrimmages. Maybe he wasn’t grasping playbook and all the nuances of being a P5 QB…. maybe he just didn’t like his classes and the campus vibe at OSU. Maybe pissed he didn’t play more given the 4 game cushion Fr’s get to maintain eligibility…. Whatever. Good look. Hopefully he doesn’t take his Dr Pepper to Montana St….. Montana St. has a Tebow like freshman QB that’s led them to the championship. Doubt he goes there, but wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up at some place like Montana. love the Dr Peppper reference

Hidden Valley opened the fall of 1979. They started in AAA (biggest classification), Southern Oregon Conference, for two or three years. That was pre-split Medford and Roseburg. Besides Grants Pass HS splitting into three high schools that year, Klamath Union also split and Eagle Point moved up to AAA. Those were a few years of the haves and have nots.
