Completely agree about the attitude that some posters display toward Vidlak. I'm guessing it stems from people being (maybe) overly enthusiastic about his signing. People's dislike of that got transferred to the young man, and now every time his name comes up, or even QB play in general, some guys just gotta relentlessly snipe at him. Sam committed to OSU, did nothing wrong here, and yet.... yeah and about 10x worse per the clowns on Twitter. One of those times where the internet seems like a really bad invention.

But the important question is which uniform will he wear for his HOF induction the post is mocking posters who were a bit overly enthusiastic after the spring game. Nothing to do with SV at all

The rumor is true. Supposedly he's recruiting "followers"?! Down to like 3 choices, and maybe he goes where his pals (if that's the case) are leaning?? Anyway... I am being Harrell's system is more complex than OSU's so he'd have no issues there. But, is he at Matt Moore type and can come to the wet and cold?? Prob a bigger factor than some realize! Slovis to Pittsburgh. Lol... wasn't even a school in the rumor I heard! So much for that! 🙄

We Beaver fans are rarely happy when a player chooses to leave OSU to play for another team. It's tough. We can't help but feel rejected because it's our Beavers and we believed in the player (even if he didn't end up playing) but he's saying he doesn't believe in us.

He’s not saying he doesn’t believe in the fans. He’s saying he doesn’t believe he’s going to play And that should matter? Why? Last year, we used three quarterbacks to play a short schedule. tOSU used their third-string quarterback to win a National Championship back in 2014. The team is the sum of the parts, and each part has a role to play, even if it isn't on the field in the games. Plus, what do you think about a player who leaves Oregon State where the quarterback situation, according to many on this board, is weak? Why isn't he winning the job if he thinks he's capable of playing on Saturday?

I agree that I think kids give up too early in their college careers, but that’s what happens.

Transfer portal is useful, but kids seem a bit shortsighted or selfish jumping in sometimes. I guess that's kind of the nature of sports these days...lots of selfish athletes.

You won’t have kids playing at their 3rd or 4th school going forward.

2A? Hidden Valley is 4A. Well, his cousin left our wrestling program also, so I guess no Vidlaks like to stay here Oregon 4A is a Washington 2A. Unfortunately…. Vidlak played in Oregon. Not Washington.

I was lucky enough to have attended practices in fall camp. In drills Sams talent was obvious. There was a difference between his throws and other QB’s. Including Nolan. But he obviously was new and didn’t have grasp of playbook. He didn’t get a ton of time in short 11 on 11’s or scrimmages. Maybe he wasn’t grasping playbook and all the nuances of being a P5 QB…. maybe he just didn’t like his classes and the campus vibe at OSU. Maybe pissed he didn’t play more given the 4 game cushion Fr’s get to maintain eligibility…. Whatever. Good look. Hopefully he doesn’t take his Dr Pepper to Montana St…..

Montana St. has a Tebow like freshman QB that’s led them to the championship. Doubt he goes there, but wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up at some place like Montana.

Smith must have seen something in him he liked and took a flyer on him. His only other offers were Big Sky and Ivy League. His profile says Yale offered him, if they will take a transfer and will pay for his education that might be a wise choice. Montana also offered him, and they have a great program. Good luck to the young man. Didn’t think Ivys took any transfers…. But who knows…. If so, hopefully he went to class. And got A’s. but I don’t think they take transfers

And seen the QB. But they haven’t won anything yet. FCS title is later this month.
