Went to MNF game at SoFi couple months back.. My 2 cents -
Stadium itself is great. Jumbotron is pretty amazing. No complaints at all there. Food was average. Beers were ridiculously expensive as I expected.
Know that unless you are there to tailgate, there's really nothing nearby other than the Hollywood Park Casino - which does have a restaurant/bar. That is unless you want to go to McDonalds or Sizzler in Inglewood, which I think you don't. So it's not like seeing a game at Petco where you can easily cruise around Gaslamp pregame.
Lots of construction in the immediate vicinity - which I understand to be future restaurant/hotel/retail space. In another year or two, should be a pretty solid spot. Right now, it's barren.
Not sure if it's different for the bowl game, but I believe you have to prepay for parking. We took an Uber which was fine getting in, but rough getting out as they had streets blocked off, other streets became 1-way w/traffic control so the drivers were confused. Rideshare pick up is over by the Forum. Would think a smaller crowd for LA Bowl vs MNF, so maybe it's no big deal.
Plus it was raining and everyone was acting like it was the apocalypse - watched 3 drunk dudes pay $250 for a private car to take them a couple miles since it was raining. Soft.

Some of the construction includes the new LA Clippers arena.

I have not been to that part of town, since I moved from Calabasas to Phoenix back in 2006, so take what follows with a grain of salt. The area East of Hollywood Park has a ton of great places to eat. In N Out. Wingstop. That is where I would usually eat, heading into or leaving Hollywood Park. The Sizzler is on the wrong side of the Forum. I never ate there.
The Hollywood Park area is nice, but, unless they cleaned up the area outside of that, be careful out after dark.
If I had a nickel for each time I heard gunshots driving into or out of Hollywood Park at night:
So how the heck do you "prepay" for parking? I'm thinking about flying into San Diego on Friday and driving up with my brother.
They have a free shuttle about 2 miles south of the Stadium. It's near the metro stop at Hawthorne and Lennox and right off I-105. The parking fee looks like $3.00 unless they increase it for game days. The reviews said the parking area is patrolled by police so is safe to park there.
The Alumni tailgater at the stadium starts 2:00 pm and the game is at 4:30.

But will it compare to the Cowboy Classic at the Jerry World?? Beavs v TCU with Andy Dalton at the helm?
By compare I mean I am wondering if 4 Sapphire Double Gin and Tonics will set one back $115 like they did at that game. I'm sure the facility is fantastic. But you simply cannot ignore the cost of liquor.
My brother and I along with a couple of other buddies will be in the "orange zone" parking lot on game day. Thought the color was a good omen. My understanding is its a 0.2 mile walk to the stadium.
