It's not easy,but some coaches have a skill for identifying guys who can project well at the college level. Jim Gilstrap,offensive line coach under Mike Riley had that skill. Start with speed...don't only look at offers and measurables. Heart,work ethic,intelligence,instincts,etc. all important The other piece of the equation is not just project well at the college level but project well for your system/scheme. For transfers, that takes on added importance because the top ones are likely to still be going to top schools. But if you can identify the player(s) that wasn’t the same type of performer as the top guys, but will get a boost because he fits your system, then you’ve got something.
