No problem. He just wants to have his name associated with a genuine academic institution.

I wouldn't be surprised if his goal is to lure us another Robert MacVicar.

The Chair of the OSU Board of Trustees has appointed the Presidential Search Committee to assist the Board in its comprehensive search for the next president. The committee is made up of OSU trustees, faculty, students, administrators, staff, and alumni, as well as representatives from higher education and the broader community.
Looks like the BOT wanted an "outsider's" input in their search rivalry be damned ... Schill's resume in the collegiate ranks isn't anything to sneeze at:

Looks like the BOT wanted an "outsider's" input in their search rivalry be damned ... Schill's resume in the collegiate ranks isn't anything to sneeze at: I’ll sneeze at it. In fact, I’ll sneeze on it. OSU and üø may have once been “teammates” within the OUS but now, with their own independent boards of trustees (due to üø’s insistence), they are direct competitors. And I can’t see any reason for allowing a direct competitor any influence or any privileged information on your leadership decisions. Furthermore, what does the leader of an institution with <1/4 of OSU’s research budget possibly have to tell OSU about who should be its president?
