I thought it was the Vegas Bowl winds that were the problem. That Vegas Bowl was the worst football experience I've ever endured. Holy crap, that night was cold and windy. I was staying at the Flamingo and I think I took a 45 minute shower trying to raise my body temperature.

I found it entertaining as well. Was really looking for video of punts blowing backwards as my memory suggests there were in that game. A win, is a win, is a win, as far as I'm concerned. I thought it was the Vegas Bowl winds that were the problem. Wind was a problem in both games. It really hurt punting in the Vegas Bowl. Hekker had the first of his backwards punts. Moveao started over Canfield in the wind in the 2008 Sun Bowl. I thought that was a big reason why Canfield played like hot garbage in the 2009 Las Vegas Bowl, a terrible way to end his career.

I think I've exaggerated that punt went into the stands at this point

I was sitting right behind Beaver bench and a few overly drunk BYU fans were saying the worst s%#t possible to the players and cheerleaders. Someone here was sitting in same section, I forget who. I just remember feeling tense as s%#t because I was with my (then) two young kids and wanted to punch those assholes so bad.

Does this mean the Ducks go to the Sun Bowl? Quite a fall from a National Championship prelim to El Paso.

I think I was in the first row, behind the Beaver bench, around the 25 yard-line, south end. I went to school with AC Green but never talked to him. He had a sideline pass and we visited for a while. And the other thing I remember except for the arctic conditions was finally parking on the dirt lot with just a few chalk lines to give a bit of an idea of where to park. Close by my car was one of those extended vans that sometimes you see used as a mini school bus. On the back window were the cartoon figures of people indicating a family. There were two large figures and (I'm not shltting you) 13 smaller figures. Two guys in BYU gear were walking close to me and I said something like "that is an impressive family." One of the guys counted them up, and then said deadpan style, "it's not 13 kids, it's three wives and only 11 kids." Then we all started laughing our asses off.

I want that matchup just to watch their punter One of the three Ray Guy Finalists. Although, for a lead-in like I want that matchup just to watch their: I would expect pretty much everything besides............punter. How about: I want that matchup just to watch their............cheerleaders. About the only punter that I wish I would have seen in person was Pittsburgh's punter, Dave Brytus. He was a Pennsylvania Heavyweight Boxing Champion and two-time Pennsylvania State Karate Champion. I heard that, during the Sun Bowl talent show, all he did was run around and punched through things made out of concrete, winning the talent show. He had a cup of coffee in the NFL before becoming a not-so-great MMA fighter. But still. But I digress, I still think there has to be about 24 or 25 things more interesting about the Aztecs than their punter. Like, why are they the Aztecs? Would Monty Montezuma show up? Etc. Maybe, I'm the weird one, though. The dude has multiple 80 yard punts and multiple 50 yard field goals AND leads their team in special teams tackles. For someone enthralled with the extreme talent of Robb Thomas I thought you’d better appreciate another unique talent.
