In the last few years, I've spent probably a quarter of my time in Lebanon. The new path is nice although concrete is terrible for running. Lebanon is completely and utterly different now compared to when I would visit my grandparents in the late 60's and 70's.

I grew up in North Albany and our family went to Lebanon fairly often to visit my aunt, uncle, and cousins (in the 60s and 70s also). We'd buy plums from one place on hwy 20; can't remember if Mom canned them or we just ate them. I remember taking a summer trip to a pear orchard but can't tell you where it was (just know it was south of Lebanon). My dad spent his last 3 or 4 years at the Veteran's retirement facility, passing away in 2020 from heart disease.
It never struck me as being a beautiful place until I got older and overlooked my childhood prejudices. If I could move back to Oregon, it might be the first place to look. Then I'd definitely check out the new paths!
