Can't tell too much from level of competition, but Cal is certainly better than they were last year. Lutje Schipholt has been a decent player for a couple years, never really stood out. She's taking a big step forward, already 2 20/10 games this season. She's starting while ballyhooed recruits Daniels, Lamb and Onyiah are all coming off the bench.
For all the size various teams have, I've been seeing a bunch of smallish lineups w/ undersized 4s. Utah, Cal, Stanford all leaving a lot of their size out of the starting lineups.

If they do that to us, I think we are versatile enough to match them with speed instead of size, maybe?

We could go with Ellie instead of Kennedy like last game, however Kennedy is really good on defense. Taya has shown that she can keep up with the 3.

I hope by the time conference schedule rolls around, OSU has an identity and sticks with it. Don't want to see changing starting lineups to try to match up with what the other team is doing. If other teams don't want to go big, punish them for it.

Wow, apparently I invented Huff getting injured. I swear that happened, but she's in all the box scores. Edwards did get hurt, but they'd already started a losing streak prior to that. There must've been another injured player. That was the year Tudor went down in early January, I think the Utes lost one of their guards around the same time.
I did get the collapsing part correct. Had a big win against Stanford...and then lost 9 of 11 the rest of the way, starting the beginning of February.

I'm guessing Ellie got the start against LMU because she had such a good game in the exhibition. Kennedy had the better game Friday, so maybe she gets the start tomorrow. We'll see.

Rueck has said that the starting line ups will change in the pre conference games. There are a bunch of starters on this team.

UCLA is trailing CSUN. Arizona absolutely demolished CSUN last week. Bruins might be in trouble this year. Apparently their roster is severely depleted...again. Keeps happening to them. I think they only have 7 available. That is a team they should not be struggling with regardless.
USC was behind Western Michigan early but appears to be taking control approaching halftime.

Watching that UCLA game, they did come back before the half to go ahead after horrible shooting for most of the half, but dang, the injuries! Lost Bessoir for the year, their exceptional transfer, Gina Conti , foot surgery, no estimate on return. Angela Dugalic , transfer from U of Zero also out, etc. I thought that when they loaded up with 15 players they'd be covered this year, wrong ! So happy we are "whole" at last, Go Beavs

USC looks less lackluster than I'm used to seeing from them. They have talent. Pili has missed some time, they don't seem to be missing her too much.

Yeah, what's up with Pili now? I see she missed the last game. She seems to be injured a lot. By the way, how can a team like Virginia be so bad?

That's too bad. I thought 1st/2nd round hosting and the excitement it brought to those sites was good for growing the women's game. Hope it all works out for the best.
