Broken record time...there are no Pac12 basketball refs/officials except for the league coordinator, Violet Palmer. Palmer doesn't ref any games herself. There is a thing called the WOC, Western Officiating Consortium, and its members ref across many leagues; WCC, WAC, P12, Big Sky, MW. is officiating in the women's game the same as the mens? In the men's game, each conference has a list of A through D officials. If a ref is on the A list, he/she has the first opportunity to claim and schedule the game. Then it works down the list. Big conferences pay more than small conferences. A mediocre seasoned official based in the pacific northwest may be on the Pac-12 D list, mountain west and WCC C list, and Summit, Big Sky and WAC B or C list. The ref is responsible for travel expenses. Games in Bozeman and Orem are easier to get because they might pay $1500 instead of the $4000 for a game in Corvallis. I don’t have anyway to corroborate how it’s done, but I assume it’s done like the mens side and how you described above.

It looks like the Stanford/Cal game on Sunday is postponed “Due to COVID-19 protocols within the California program”.

Ok, it really isn't Pac-12, but there is the possibility she could end up in the Pac-12. Did anyone notice that Mississippi State's Rickea Jackson, the one time Beaver recruit, and leading scorer in the SEC has announced she is transferring. It will be interesting to see where she lands, but I'm guessing somewhere close to home (Michigan). Hurry up and read this before it gets kicked to another board....even though she could end up in the Pac-12.

I was amazed when she signed at Miss. State in the first place....She was considered one of the best H.S. players in her class - and possibly the BEST athlete in her graduating class.... I doubt if the Beavs have a shot at getting her....Maybe she'll head back home....Maybe she'll find her way to Texas.....But if she heads west, I'd bet on UCLA or Oregon....One thing is for sure: everyone wants her. GO BEAVS!!

I tend to agree. I could even see Arizona in the mix. It will be interesting to see what she decides. She wasn't happy at Mississippi State.

Yes, she has to be very unhappy to take this action mid-season. She was leading the SEC in scoring, but there is something wrong at Mississippi State. She's not the first player to enter the transfer portal this year. I believe that list has already topped 100. Many, like Saylor Poffenbarger, have already left their school (UCONN) and transferred to their new school (Arkansas).

Utah's schedule isn't close to comparable to Colorado's. They played @ Oklahoma, Gonzaga on a neutral court and BYU at home. Colorado played...Marquette as maybe their best opponent? Oklahoma St. is way down this year. Utah played 2 WCC teams, but they are by far and away the top 2. Colorado played middle of the road San Francisco. USC's schedule was fairly fluffy. Missouri St., Seton Hall (maybe?) and Central Florida were their only opponents worth a darn. Very obvious from top to bottom the league is titening up. More teams are loaded with good players.

I’m still wrapping my head around all the “portal” ramifications - a dizzying array of possibilities given the mid-season option ( with some shady NIL options,) Let the creativity begin !

I guess you can't see it here, but Jenny H liked this post. I wouldn't read too much into that though. As good as Rickea is, the Beavs already look to be pretty full at her position next season, and I can't picture Rickea joining the Beavs at this point.
