You make it sound like the government is just handing out the money. Really, what can the government do? Under Trump laws, border patrol violated human rights, and any lawyer will have a field day with that case. The government is going to have to pay for previous decisions. It sucks for us, but I think it sucked a whole lot more for them. Talk about getting political. I thought it was well documented that family separations started as an Obama policy, no? No, it was a Trump policy. The article link provided pretty much says that. Speaking of taking a simple article and making it political. Not being a supporter of either I can tell you a simple fact... Trump had no immigration laws passed in his tenure. ZERO. What happened was a "zero tolerance" of the already b established and court supported process. As for separation of families another often misguided notion. If you crossed illegally as an adult you're arrested. If you claim the children as yours (many were proven not to be related) the children aren't arrested but turned over to Human Services. Under their supervision the children recieved far better care than in their previous home and certainly on the forced travel North. Fresh, clean water, clothes, bedding. Food and medical care. And... if you want to go political the so called "cages" as described by the left leaners were in fact the same accommodations as set up by the President and VP before Trump. These lawsuits are political "hate" suits hoping for just that, a settlement. No court in the country is going to give millions for mental anguish caused by your own felony act. It's a ploy, so far working, to hope a weak and confused admin will pay off. As for me... it was previously admitted poor attempt. But far from supporting any party or political agenda. My thoughts since 2016... "Are these three stooges really the best we can do?" So... jabber away, interpret how you want. Believe in whomever, whatever ideology. But, at least do some intelligent research before passing on complete propaganda BS. |
