Is that really about attendance for their wbb team? I see references to how much $ all the SEC schools are raking in due to football, they can afford to throw a bunch of cash around at coaches in all sports.

I just saw that 11,000 season ticket stat earlier and threw it in.

Yeah the fan support for South Carolina women's basketball is impressive. Too bad more schools don't have something similar.

I think USC for instance averaged about 350 fans. They might've been around 800 or 900, but I seriously question some of those numbers. I've seen games on TV where it appears there are about 100 people in the arena. You can actually hear individual voices in the audience.
Washington St. also is usually below 1000 I believe. Washington was trending downward during the Wynn era. Basically other than the Oregon schools and Arizona, everybody should be doing better. I think UCLA and Stanford are okay, but considering how good of a program the Cardinal have their attendance is quite disappointing.

USC and WSU WBB home crowds are essentially friends and family. I think WSU should consider moving at least a couple of their home games to 3,000 seat Bohler Gymnasium, where their volleyball team plays. a crowd of 6 or 7 hundred, or even a thousand, would be a totally different atmosphere than that number in 12,000 seat Beasley Coliseum. But they probably won't even consider it because they'd deem it a downgrade, relative to the men's program.

PAC 12 average attendance in 2019 - '20
Oregon 9,420 Oregon State 5,902 Arizona 5,554 Stanford 3,636 UCLA 3,021 Arizona St. 2,913 Utah 2,448 Cal 2,168 Colorado 2,068 Washington 1,748 USC 985 Washington St. 755
I got those numbers from the PAC 12 stats site, but they had ours wrong all year and never corrected it. (They counted the 2 games in Maui as home games, thus severely lowering our average number.) I corrected it above, but who knows if they screwed up others as well. Gives you the general idea, though.

I don’t understand what COVID has to do with my suggestion. Packing same amount of people into a smaller space....less social distancing.

I don’t understand what COVID has to do with my suggestion. Packing same amount of people into a smaller space....less social distancing. If they can play Pac-12 volleyball matches there (which they have done in 2021) then they could play WBB games there. WSU averages about 750 fans (officially). In a 3,000 seat gym spacing should be no problem.
