We didn't have one - They did Sacks: Oregon State 1 Washington State 1 Tackles for loss: Oregon State 4 Washington State 4
And that is with Oregon State running more plays than Wazzu.
Wazzu played with four down linemen, and Oregon State played with three.

The whole D failed in the second half. It seemed like every single pass play their WRs were finding the seams perfectly. Lots of guys open by 5 yards or more. And then their runs were being called at the right time. Flat out out-coached in the second half, especially when we were on D. That and they just ran a quick out route to whichever slot was covered by our LB. Hate taking some like Speights off the field but that was easy money for the Cougs.

Their 5 wide crosses pick off defenders. They get away with a lot. Even with them scoring 31. We got down to 5 and bobble a pass they intercept. 7 points lost. We intercept ball in End zone. A clear 100 yard return but he steps on sideline. 7 possible points lost. We end up sadly 4 th down and 19 at the 23 yard line. A pass to Lowe that he stopped to catch. He runs to the 7 or 8 before He is downed at 5. We are a short one yard. Again 7 points lost. Our fake punt. Dumb call short field. That too cost us 7. A game hinges on three or 4 plays. That sums it up. They will be hard for others to handle too. By the way usc lost to Utah 42-26. Utah is as good as we are. We will have to finish drives and make plays to beat them. Wazzu's last touchdown was a good example. Travell Harris interfered with Avery Roberts, which sprung Deon McIntosh for the touchdown. I was wondering about this too - I don’t know the rules on pick routes, but I saw on one play a receiver rerouted two of our defensive backs that made for a wide open reception. It seems like one of those things to keep doing until it gets called, and I don’t believe it ever was.

I am sure that it happened more often than that, though.

Pick plays are penalties only if there is contact between the offensive player and defender. Can't comment on any pick plays during game since I wasn't watching it.

If you watch wazzu, they ran a pick on almost every play, and I know which play you are talking about. Seems to me that maybe getting in their face ay the los, and making it harder, or take more time to adjust their routes to get open, giving the Dline more time to rush, might have at least been worth a try, didn't see that happen..

I am a big press believer against these spread teams. Free release will kill you, you gotta knock them off their routes and in particularly, disrupt their attempt to pick. It is almost always an outside-in picks. The outermost WR is running any number of inside routes, from shallow drags to inside slants to in and up and the slot WRs is aiming to pick both his and the outer defender to free the route... We only make the job easier when we line up 10 yards off the ball for them. You HAVE to stagger your defender depth to prevent this. and you HAVE to have at least two of the WRs getting jammed on the line to get the timing off on the crossings. I have believed for a long time our guys can run with most anybody, let them run! Having two defenders on the same side of the ball at the same depths just sitting their waiting for the WR to converge is madness! Madness I tell you.

Going by memory here.. but that Fiesta Bowl Defense played alot of press coverage. Seems like Willy Robinson (DC under Erickson) liked that coverage as well. Those were also NFL caliber CBs.

WSU had no problem moving the ball on SC before de Laura got hurt and was knocked out of the game in the second quarter. WSU had to play third- and fourth-string walkons in the second half. De Laura threw for two TDs and had another drive stopped on downs at the SC 2. Surprised your buddy didn't notice that.

I don't sign pledges either.
"Dazed and Confused" might be the only time Matthew McConaughey isn't the coolest guy in the movie.

You sure you want to use that avatar with Jason London's run-ins with the law? He just got arrested less than a month ago for a DUI. He was so drunk they couldn't fingerprint him.

It's a photo of a character in a movie.
