So why did the coaching staff put it on Nolans shoulders on the final drive? We run the football we win the game...they weren't going to stop a 2 pt conversion either. Nolan played poorly. Receivers dropped passes, one which caused a brutal turnover. Play calling down the stretch waa absurd. The longest pass play called was thrown by the punter. 3rd and long. But we are 4-2 so had I been asked how I'd feel at this point to have that record preseason I'd have said thrilled. Go Beavs Yeah.... I wasn't too thrilled. They finally get a good stop on first down run there in the redzone and suddenly we start throwing the ball around. I think if we keep pounding that ball we run it in with no time on the clock and ain't no way they are stopping a Jack Hammer 2 pt conversion.

His famous post game presser statement, "ya, I guess maybe we should've run the ball more." Is there an exorcist in the house? MB.

My thoughts on Nolan remain the same as last year - he looks great when we're up big or down a ton, but struggles when the game is close.
vs. Utah in 2020 we were down 30-10 in the 4th quarter and to that point Nolan was 9-20 for 72 yards and a pick. Game pretty much over and he goes 11-18 for 130 and a TD. He was also sacked three times and fumbled in the 4th quarter (we recovered the ball).
vs. Stanford he threw 3 TDs and was 12-20 for 187 through 3 quarters, but in the 4th after Stanford took the lead 24-21 with 13:03 to play, he was 5-10 for just 34 yards and fumbled when were in field goal range to tie it up.
vs. ASU he was 9-23 for 114 yards before being benched for Gulbranson.
We all know what he's done this year - looked better than he really was against Purdue because Noyer was so bad. 10-16 for 157. Played well against poor competition in Hawaii and Idaho, then admittedly looked AMAZING against USC. That's starting to look the like aberration in his play rather than the norm to me though.
Not saying we should switch back to Noyer, but I definitely think the ceiling of this team is limited by the QB play.
Well that and the defense's inability to get off the field on 3rd down.
