Watched the first nine innings. Beavers led 7-2. Play started for a 10th inning - don't know if they were just going to play an extended single game or play two.
Many regulars not participating due to injury or other reasons including Forrester, Boyd, Melton. Bazzana was out, also. Smith started at catcher, Dukart at 2B, Dernedde at SS, Gretler at 3B. Thomas Dukart played quite a bit. Dernedde looked good in the field. Meckler hit the ball well with at least two singles. Jake Dukart smashed the ball every time. McDowell in CF chased down many long balls over his head, but did not hit well. No top line pitchers shown by the time I left. Townsend started and looked good. Basically, the staff took a look at many young players, so not much to take from this, except that Meckler and Dukart looked in mid-season form. LBCC has some good pitching and hitters, so it was not a total cakewalk.

Best player on the field yesterday way Ruben Cedillo from LBCC. Went to central high school in Monmouth. Turned down Nevada-Reno to stay at LB. Hit 4 rockets and showed a cannon for an arm. Played centerfield but projects as a corner. His bat will get him in the lineup. I’m sure Mitch was taking notes

Meckler might be our best contact hitter this season. I loved watching that kid play last year. He is a tough out!
