Underwhelming schedule. Michigan might be the only team ranked in the preseason polls. Maybe Notre Dame will get back to being Notre Dame this year, maybe not. Some decent mid majors in Cal Baptist, Idaho, Northern Iowa, Villanova. Would like to see at least one more marquee opponent.

Villanova is about twenty minutes from Ellie's high school. Happy that she will get an opportunity to play in front of her family and friends. Villanova also finished in the top-60 in NET rankings last season, so should be a formidable opponent.
NC Central still owed us a home game from quite a few years ago when we played at Duke. I believe Duke visited Corvallis the next season. Pacific should be pretty horrible. Loyola Marymount should be much improved from last season.

Pretty lame schedule for a team ranked #12 in the country. Nothing of interest to home game fans, who deserve better. None of these home, pre- conference games are going to generate any buzz at Gill.

The Pac-12 opponent I dislike most has scheduled South Carolina and UConn and will be battle-tested.... Why do we do this to ourselves?

I have no doubt that they tried to get at least one marquee game in Gill. They always have. But you don't always get what you want . . .

Gonna log some serious air miles in a fairly short period of time, travelling from Villanova to Corvallis to Maui in just 3 or 4 days.....Unless they just head out to Maui after their game in Philly.....
Agree it's a pretty ho-hum pre-conference slate....Notre Dame might be unranked but it will still be a significant win if it happens... Beating Notre Dame is its own milestone accomplishment, regardless. Have they ever defeated the Irish? GO BEAVS!!

Agreed with many of you who think this is a lame schedule. Looks like the Zona schools, Stanford and the Ucks try to jump right into the fire pre season.

Sure, it'd be nice to see a high-ranked opponent in Gill. But after being absent an entire season from the stands, this schedule has me excited as much as ever to get back to seeing the women at home. Can't wait.

I was a little disappointed at the caliber of non-conference opponents as well. However another perspective might be that we are saving our "battles" for the Pac-12. I'd rather have Stanford and UO wiped out from strong non-conference games before we get a chance to play them. The former attitude might have been more apropos when our best competition was outside the conference. Now it is clearly not!

Disappointing that only 5 games are at Gill, and one of them will be with 6,000 screaming kids.

Monmouth and NC Central? Not just lower level teams but baaaaad lower level teams. If they want to play that level of competition aren't there some community colleges in state they could play and cut down on expenses?

To be fair, it was difficult to put together a schedule this year, as was pointed out in an earlier thread.

If they want to play that level of competition aren't there some community colleges in state they could play and cut down on expenses? As I noted earlier, as for the NC Central game, they contractually owed Oregon State a trip to Corvallis after Oregon State traveled to North Carolina in 2017 to play NC Central and Duke. As for Monmouth, I’d assume Rueck was looking for an additional game in the northeast within driving distance from Villanova. Would have been nice to have added a Penn State/Rutgers type. I would have rather seen an additional more challenging western mid-major (Fresno State, Gonzaga, BYU, etc.) or a home and home with a top-25 team like we had the past few years with Notre Dame and Duke.
