D1's P/S Top-25 poll came out about 6 weeks ago and ranked four PAC-12 teams.
No. 7 Arizona No. 8 Stanford No. 19 Oregon No. 24 UCLA
MIA: Oregon State
That will change.

Beaver pitching staff, with the flush of incoming talent, looks promising. Though I share others expressed concerns, re: lack of lefties. It all begins Feb. 18 in Surprise AZ. That's really only kinda/sorta 5 months (and change) from now.

So UofA, after losing 20 kids to the transfer portal, and beginning the chip Hale era with his first season, are the 7th best team in America?
Damn....

"Adding up" is not the purpose of polls, neither is providing us with useful information.
The purpose of polls is to amuse us.

That's what I was thinking.....how good have their recent recruiting classes been? I take it that you are being sarcastic, or I missed the point. Arizona always has great recruiting classes. Always. They do lose signees to the draft, but they just plug holes with their excellent JC connections. Even with the signing losses and transfers, talent is present.

ARZ hasn't been what I would call a "powerhouse" in recent years......a good program, amongst the best in the conference, but to lose their staff and that many kids, and be ranked that high? Thats crazy.

Being ranked during the preseason is about as worthless as sitting on the toilet with no toilet paper. It only matters at the end of the regular season where you are ranked.

"That poll right after the CWS is the real one"
. . . .like the old recruiting story!
REPORTER: "Coach, today was National signing day. How good was your class?" COACH: "Great question. Ask me that 4 years from now"

It does show respect when you are ranked in the top 25 based on your past successes. Osu was a fringe top 25 team last year almost making the Supers. It can't hurt recruiting when recruits see you are a pre season top 25 team.

Resurrecting this dead horse to point out it's actually 2021's post season rankings. No way on Earth Oregon will be ranked at the start of 2022, they lost everybody who was any good.

As much as I DTD ( Detest the Ducks ), I think that new coach did a pretty good job of pulling his team together - yes, lot’s of returnee’s, but ). we also had a bunch that did not match their past exploits ! He had less time than Canham ( I believe ), but the real point for me is that they took us in 3 non counters and 2 of 3 league games. That ruined the year for me …( but I digress ). Hopefully, we can get the pitching staff back to OSU Standards - and that we can see the team hitting on all cylinders early. Seems we have the tools !
