The estimate is that the rate the Delta variant is going in Oregon, within 6 weeks all unvaccinated people will have been exposed and hospitals will be flooded. Mask mandate now is probably too little too late (tho I do not want to wear it I will). The two shot vaccines require up to 6 weeks to develop peak immunity, but get your shots anyway because every little bit helps. The Johnson and Johnson one shot option is still there but in any case please get vaccinated. I don't want any more of my family, friends and acquaintances to get so sick or die.

So it is over in 6 weeks. Probably not, since the longer the virus sticks around, the more likely it will mutate. And as it creates new mutations, some will most certainly be more devastating than the one before.

And as it creates new mutations, some will most certainly be more devastating than the one before. That is what is most scary. The potential mutation probably wont happen in the United States but in some country with lots of people and few of them vaccinated. We dont need a mutation that gets around the vaccines or worse yet is more fatal by a factor of 10.
