Not a Beaver, but congratulations to Kelsey Plum for winning a gold medal.

I only caught a couple of the games, but she looked good when I was watching.
Just about a year ago she was beginning rehab from tearing her Achilles tendon. She's not only back, but playing by far the best of her career since she graduated.

Definitely congrats. Haven't followed her or WNBA at all, but watching Olympics, "Hey, that's Kelsey Plum!". Anytime I watched, no one could guard her driving to her left. I saw her make bunches of layins, never saw her hit from beyond the arc. Trying to remember how we defensed her...

I remember her comments for last year, or the year before about how tough it was to score against Oregon State.

And Ruth Hamblin as the rim protector, negating her drives.

caught a few minutes of 3x3. Thought it was pretty entertaining - loved the pace.

And how she thought Scott Rueck was the best coach in the Pac-12

To paraphrase a quote from Coach Neighbors when he was at UW, when you try to take away her drive to the left, she just goes more lefter.
She did hit some from behind the arc. Apparently she was both the leading scorer from any team during the Olympics, and led everybody in 1 point shooting accuracy (about 70%).

nwhoopfan: I once had a scouting report on an opposition player that read: "He's so left-handed that if someone cut it off he'd starve to death." GO BEAVS!!🏀

That's great. A lesson there I think. The 3 on 3 game is perfect for her, as long as she is on a team with two bigs who have enough outside game to leave some space in the middle. Previous poster was right, I now remember Gabby getting huge credit for our wins up there; didn't appreciate it as much at the time. Go Beavs!
