My take on the article was that the conference would be "greasing the skids" for U$C, uo, or UW to make the CFP. Schedules, bye weeks, and the unmentioned critical referee calls are on the table.

None of it matters without better media rights…. Which… what does PAC offer beyond what it’s got ?…. How is PAC gonna get a better … more lucrative media deal at this point ?…………ESPN ?… no…… FOX?…. No……. Maybe CBS VIACOM .?…. After sec games ?…. I’m not sold on streaming at all. Apple, Prime, Facebook…. Etc…. That will be limited audience and dollars. Larry Scott got us behind the 8 ball with all the network hubris and extravagance.

Right now you get Jack S$&@. Walk before you can run.

NBC has nothing in the fall other than ND football home games. At some point it has to become relevant again and have college football.

But the customers that watched a lot of sports in their formative years by streaming are now in their late 20's and starting to make money. I'm not sure what the Pac12 network has to do with it, but more and more sports will be watched without a cord or a dish.

But anyways once football season starts I'll reactivate Sling, which is the default since it's still the only streaming service with PAC-12 network. I wonder what proportion of people are streaming vs people still on cable? Maybe I'm still in the minority

I think adding Texas Tech, TCU, Okie State, and Baylor would be pretty danged interesting. Certainly would expand the media footprint, and get us into Texas for recruiting even more than we already are.
I agree that streaming is the new way of the world. However, right now streaming is similarly annoying to cable packages. I need peacock to watch The Office and HBO Max to watch Adventure Time and Disney plus to watch The Mysterious Benedict Society... oh yeah and FuBo, Sling or some such thing to watch sports.... We need TRULY ala carte.... I want these 16 sporting events and these 8 tv shows. and that is it. Something like that

Once UT is in the SEC, anyone not named Texas or Texas A&M will matter even less than they do now. When it comes to football, TTU, Baylor, TCU, Houston, SMU, Rice and the various UT directional schools are the Portland States of the Lone Star State. They have no footprint, and TTU, Baylor and TCU's relevance will lessen even more because they won't be playing Texas every year. In Texas you're an Aggie or a Longhorn.
Okie and Iowa states are the No. 2 programs in their own little isolated region. They would add nothing to the Pac-12. Neither would anyone in freaking Kansas.
Staying at 12 and strengthening what we have is the Pac-12's best move. IMHO, the addition of Texas and Oklahoma will lead to a lot of infighting and bad blood within SEC football, as the lesser teams like the Mississippis, Vandy, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky and even Auburn get marginalized even further.
