Graves responded to a tweet from a high school coach with an emoji.
So three things. First nothing will happen by self reporting these no matter how much we wish for it, second, it happens more often than we know with those that don't self report, third, with NIL now the NCAA has left the gates wide open and that is where the big things will begin. Sadly, the NCAA has not even dived into the NIL with any detail and how it will be used. That is where the action is now.
Btw, every pac-12 team has had secondary violations, most go unreported. Stanford who most think is squeaky clean 100 percent of the time does it share across their sports and that is not even mentioning the other California schools where it is more common practice. I think it is the number you can have over a set time period. Again the action is in the NIL that the NCAA has let go is where the action will be. They are going around putting out campfires that are self reported while the major NIL fire is burning over the hill.

I agree with you. The NCAA has gone from biased enforcement of archaic rules, to an organization that does not even need to exist. College athletics is really just a semi pro level of whatever sport you can name ! We are already seeing money affect potentially every athlete in every sport... with zero guidelines about amounts, numbers, Conferences and donors . This will just get worse and the wild exceptions will just become targets for bidding wars and under the table deals . I don't blame the kids , I blame he adults. The separation of powers, and the gulf between programs, is spinning in a direction that will reward the most cunning and agents/ lawyers, family, etc. will be the beneficiaries of a broken system ! How will it affect the sport and the athletes themselves ? Hard to accurately predict , but one can anticipate that the disposable income, now in the athletes hands, will not be used for constructive purposes and some great athletes, with professional promise and earning potential, will 'flame out' early ! Downhill slope with no brakes or guard rails !
