So, nobody else is worried about the BigTen potentially raiding the Pac-12 for the highest profile schools and leaving teams like OSU and Wazzu holding an empty bag?

So, nobody else is worried about the BigTen potentially raiding the Pac-12 for the highest profile schools and leaving teams like OSU and Wazzu holding an empty bag? How many teams do they need? They already have 14 in the math challenged Big 10! On the bright side, maybe the Big 12 with 10 teams that looks like it will lose 2 could revive the Big 8 name.

I guess I'm more concerned that there ends up being a Washington, Oregon, UCLA, USC, Stanford, Cal, Ohio State, Michigan, MSU, Penn State, Wisconsin, and maybe someone else in a conference, leaving all the have-nots in their own castoff league.

So, nobody else is worried about the BigTen potentially raiding the Pac-12 for the highest profile schools and leaving teams like OSU and Wazzu holding an empty bag? Texas and Oklahoma have historical ties to Arkansas, A&M and Missouri of the SEC. No Pac-12 team has historical ties with anyone in the Big Ten. Travel costs alone would be prohibitive. And the Pac-12 derives absolutely no benefit by absorbing any of the leftover Big 12 teams. None whatsoever.

So Oregon can get the “random” schedule of playing Kansas and Kansas St 5 years in a row but somehow miss USC and Washington before finally playing them? At home!

So, nobody else is worried about the BigTen potentially raiding the Pac-12 for the highest profile schools and leaving teams like OSU and Wazzu holding an empty bag? I haven't expressed worry over that exact scenario, but I definitely worry that the biggest 4-5 teams in the Pac are going to bail and the rest of us are going to be in a weaker conference with some of the bigger MWC teams. Maybe we'll get lucky and get stuck in a conference with Baylor and TCU.

Whether the richest of the rich form their own conferences and the smaller teams get left behind, the size of conferences are getting way to big. What's the point of calling yourself a conference when you will not playing half the teams in your conference every year?

Tex ass has a big ego. For all the money it has it couldn't do crap in football over the past many years. If it gets into the SEC its going to be more of the same. But they will have a bigger bank account.

10 members is about right for a conference. It will come back in style someday when the mega conferences get stale.

But they will have a bigger bank account. Texas football hasn’t been relevant in 10 years. In that period they have like the 4th best conference record in the Big 12. But damn do they print money!

Maybe Vanderbilt and Kentucky get pushed out and go to the Big12 (10).

SEC is completely taking over college athletics Actually, this will decrease Texas's and Oklahoma's influence. Much harder time for them to reach the CFP out of the SEC than the s%#tty Big 12. I get your point, but my point stands.....this would make the SEC more dominant. I get that the SEC will cannibalize themselves even more, but record expectations will be adjusted accordingly......a couple loss SEC team (who lost to say Alabama and Texas) could get the nod over an undefeated team with an easy schedule.....something like that.
