We have three QBs who have started multiple Pac-12 games. I think the Colorado transfer wins the job in the first week. Let’s hope he can learn the offense and create a rapport with his teammates. hit the nail on the head. I think that's a LOT to ask unless he is just head, shoulders, and chest above Gebbia in terms of raw talent.

We were VERY close to 6 or more wins in 2019. I'd argue we were better than WSU and Hawaii yet we lost two winnable games. That would have put us at 7 and 5 w a bowl game.
Additionally, I thought we were better in 19 than 2020 because of our defense was better, but 2020 was such a small sample size due to shortened season and Pandemic. Although, I'd argue that our running game was phenomenal in 20. We were jobbed at UW, Late turnover vs Stanford, and a Chance Nolan keeper instead of handing off on 4th and 1 away from a Pac 12 title game. (Or Jefferson playing vs Utah would have won)
Fast forward to 2021 and I think the Offense and Defense will be drastically better in 21. The big thing this season is to consistently pull out those close games. Sure we learned how to win close games vs Cal in 19 and 20, ASU in 19, and of course Oregon in 20. My hope is for the team to learn to take the next step and I'm confident they will. Put me at 5 to 8 win range

Plus, I feel good about the QB depth and coaching.

The first year they were getting hammered but there was some competitiveness. The next year there were the heartbreakers but you could see the pieces were there, and there were some feel good/feel great wins in that mix. Of course the big step forward came with St. Dennis but I would argue that the momentum was there already there. I am not saying Riley would have given us the Fiesta Bowl season but I do think he had the Beavs headed for a bowl game in 99 if he stayed instead of answering the siren call of the NFL.

How is the D going to be better ? It all starts upfront and …. Wheres the improvements coming from ? They added Schad which should be an instant impact there. Then you have more experience and depth than previous years. I think they have a solid two deep at every position and possibly 3 deep.
