Good reading material, thanks 411500. I haven't checked all the other Pac-12 schools yet, but we did our part to keep the average up, from Raoul:
"Power 5 WBB programs have so far picked up 130 D-I transfers, which is an average of exactly two per team."

This....If Arizona does, indeed, add another transfer they will have 16 scholarship players, the most they have ever had under Barnes.
Good luck keeping them all....

OK, 15 is normally the lid, but they could ass 1 more because their lone senior (apparently) Sam Thomas doesn't count.
Fast forward to 2022 recruiting, where they already have commitments from Maya Nnaji and Kailyn Gilbert. After Thomas leaves, they would be down to 15 returning if they add another transfer, 14 if they don't. Max they can have in 2022 is 15, right?
Unless some of the transfers are grad transfers, where do Nnaji and Gilbert go? And good luck getting down to that "magic number" of 13 anytime soon without, as Sparty said, seeing some of this year's roster ease on down the road.
Much as I have hated seeing people transfer out of our program, numbers wise, I think we're in a really good spot going forward, with good balance by class year - 3 in the 2021 freshman class, 4 in the 2022 class, 3 in what could be looked at as the 2020 freshman class (Taylor, Jelena, and Kennedy). We can bring in 3 in 2023, and be nicely balanced by year. If someone does leave in the interim, a grad transfer and/or another in 2023 can be added.
I just can't help but think that programs like Arizona and Oregon are somewhat guilty of trading in tomorrow for today, and you pay for that in future recruiting.

I hope ua implodes. The tournament showed very clearly the person barnes is. I get creating an us against everybody environment to further bond her team. It's when she went public with it that she lost me. The constant whining about not getting any respect got old, it was directed at everybody. The other coaches, players, announcers, ncaa etc.

Pac-12 was NOT one of the top two according to espn. Can't get no respect seems valid to me.

In current college basketball, the transfer portal has become just as important as recruiting High School players. UCLA adds some very nice additions. I especially think Thomas is an addition that could really bolster their offense. They may have too many guards to keep them all happy, but the transfers should know what awaits them.
Arizona did very well in the portal as well. Those forwards are going to make their front line tough to deal with. That article was written a while ago, and I think Barnes thought she was going to land Endyia. I seriously doubt they add another player now, and despite not liking the idea of Endyia going to the ducks, I'm glad to see Barnes isn't getting everything she wants.
I expect the Beavs will add a transfer portal point guard again next year to back up Talia. I don't expect Greta, A.J., or Adlee can fill that role, so it will be good to add some experience to replace Te'a.

In the last 5 NCAA tournaments, the PAC 12 has gone 28-2 in first round games, 21-7 in second round games, 12-9 in third round games, 69-29 overall, has sent 5 different programs to the Final Four, and is going to be loaded again this year. But we're not one of the top two conferences? Espn should discover that there's a whole, big country out there outside of the 13 original colonies.

Great tread but have to disagree on Barnes. A leader. Got fans all excited got to the Final nearly beat my team, Stanford. Several coaches have gone to congress to talk about unequal treatment of women vs men in the NCAAs tournaments. Stanford will have 17 this season. 2 using their “free” year. Max is 15 the following year once again.

Where do you think she will go? She already used the Oklahoma and Baylor jobs to leverage her contract this off season and Arizona was clearly willing to pay up, plus Arizona is her alma mater and clearly where she wants to be.

Not sure what point you're trying to make. Barnes is 44 - so she has at least another 15, maybe 20 years of coaching if she stays in the profession. Arizona is her first head coaching job - so if she doesn't take another job she will have spent her entire coaching career at one school - a historical rarity.
What she has done at U of A is impressive by anyone's standards. Took a basement team and in 4 or 5 years played in the National Championship game - and damn near won it.
She's galvanized the Tucson fan base big time. This season they will significantly exceed OSU's average game attendance....
At any rate, Barnes has created one more team in the Pac that's gonna be harder than hell to beat, and she has made OSU's job of staying near the top of the Pac that much harder. I don't think anyone claims she is a great Xs & Os coach - but whatever she's doing, she's doing a lot of it right. GO BEAVS!!

It’s obviously a possibility. I consider it a strong likelihood.
