And did she even try to apply here?
Probably not. The best way to start your coaching career is to get AWAY from your original team and broaden your horizons as quickly as possible. This is almost certainly the best possible first job for her.

She will be mid major head coach in 8 years Very very Longshot predictions: Taya Corosdale transfers to Duke to play her final season. Aleah is the next Assistant coach hire at Oregon State.

rmancarl - - I hope that is truly a Longshot Prediction.....No way do I want to see Taya transfer anywhere....(Although a Master's Degree from Duke would be a great asset to a young woman heading out into the world). Aleah as the next assistant coach at OSU......Maybe. I'm still thinking Sydney W. but I don't follow WNBA enough to know what her career trajectory is looking like. GO BEAVS!!

Oh, definitely long shots, and just for fun. Taya will have one eligible year after this one, so it will be interesting to see if she takes advantage of it. Considering the Beavs will have Kennedy and Timea Gardiner most likely patrolling the 4 spot, will Taya return......or go to Duke, lol As for the next assistant coach at OSU, I'd love for that to be Sydney. I could be wrong, but I doubt her WNBA playing career last too many more years. It's obvious Aleah wants to get into coaching. She could have played oversees like most players with her talent, but she jumped right in to an opportunity to get her feet wet. I'm thrilled for her, and certainly wouldn't mind seeing her at OSU again some day. During one of the TV broadcast last season, one of the announcers said "maybe Aleah will come back as a player coach next year" with Katie, Brian, and Kendyl leaving and new rules on earning money, perhaps that could have happened. She does need to learn from other systems though, so this is great for her.

The only comment from Syd about coaching that I know of is essentially "no thanks" but she's allowed to change her mind if she wants.

Her players Duke will find out quickly not to challenge coach Goodman to a 3-point shooting contest.
