Impressive. Bypasses the Grad Assistant step and launches right into a full time spot at a (rebuilding) prestige D1 program. Well done Aleah. Good luck with the west coast to east coast move.

Congrats to Aleah! I know many have said she wanted to get into coaching. I didn't expect it to begin quite this soon.

Great opportunity for Aleah, and a great kickoff to her future career. Although technically not a coaching position, this is about as close as you can get, and she's going to learn a ton! Congrats to her!! Hopefully someday she will be back with a coaching role at Oregon State!

That is a great move for both Aleah and Duke.
Looks like I have a new second favorite team. I've always liked Kara Lawson and think she made a wise choice.

And did she even try to apply here? I think the phrase you were searching for was “Congratulations Aleah“.

And did she even try to apply here? Not the same position as what we had open, is it? This is a very nice stepping stone for Aleah. Who knows? Maybe several steps and 15 or so years from now, she'll wind up pulling a Jonathan Smith.

Excellent for her AND for Duke. I'm pretty sure Coach Kara remembers her when she called the Civil War at Gill a couple of years ago.

And did she even try to apply here? She needs to learn from other coaches, other systems. I'm sure after 4 years she has a very good handle on the system at OSU. This is the best next step for her and her career.

Probably not. The best way to start your coaching career is to get AWAY from your original team and broaden your horizons as quickly as possible. This is almost certainly the best possible first job for her.

Lawson was actually once of the coaches of the USA 3X3 team that Aleah played on during the summer of 2019. That was where their connection was made, but I'm sure Kara remembers that night in Gill.

I think this is an amazing opportunity for Aleah. Getting to learn from Kara will give Aleah a chance to learn from a new perspective on the court. I've worked with some great people over my life and each one had something new to teach me. All good on the road to coming back to the Beav's to be a coach here!!! 😎
