Michel Stayton 5A 182 J. Rowley CV 5A 195 H. Walters CV Eveland #1 seed at 5A 138 (assuming he's still an incoming Beav) CV with #1 seeds at 8 weights. Newberg with 26 kids entered in 6A... Couple other guys i'm watching: Ayden Garver Newberg 6A 145 #1 seed Charlie Evans Newberg 6A 152 #1 seed Justin Rademacher West Linn 6A 170 #3 seed (sounds like Beavs are recruiting him - he's a soph) Braylin Ruchti Thurston 5A 113 #1 seed (younger brother of Asher) Looks like a Ruchti vs Rowley rematch might be in the cards this weekend.

other interesting tidbit is that 5A District 3 (we'll call this old Valley League - CV, Albany, Lebanon, Dallas etc) voted to automatically send 1 and 2 seeds to state and used their district tourney to determine 3rd and 4th place qualifiers.
Odd that they let the conferences determine their own process.. but I guess since it's non-OSAA sanctioned state tournament they had a little more leeway...

Yes I think it's non standard as far as district seeding and state seeding. Barnes took out Reese 2-1 TB in district. Reese dropped down to #5 seed? This keeps him opposite Barnes...probably what the seeders wanted. Both of these guys are nationally ranked top 15-20 range. Then the other Dist. champs fill out 2-3-4 seeds.
I spaced Eveland...thanks for the reminder. Missing is Ricky Bell 6A 132. 'Idaho' caught this and thinks he may be dinged up?

Yeah that's a weird one. didn't look to see what the seeding criteria is. But like you've said, at least they've got Reese on the other side of the bracket. Both Bell and Cael Brunson were wrestling in early June. Not sure what happened.

Both Bell and Cael Brunson were wrestling in early June. Not sure what happened. Bells father said... "Hey guys I would have loved to seen him wrestle Nicky or Nash too but what happened was we bought him tickets long ago to go on a senior trip. He also was to start summer classes on June 21. He had a week between the end of his senior year and before OSU summer classes started. After his senior trip was planned our district meet was scheduled the same week. I hope that explains it. Lol. He has never dodged competition in his life. Who knows if he wouldve won or lost, but I do know he would’ve gave it his all. Im sad this year worked out the way it did with him missing so many things like prom and other school events. But I know he couldnt wait to get to OSU for the next journey in his life.” This was because people were claiming he didn't want to participate in the state tourny because he might not beat Nash, and didn't want to end his career with a loss in the state tourny. Other were also speculating that he may have had covid. Goes to sho a lot of times, the answer is pretty straight forward, and not a conspiracy.
