The Noyer signing makes plenty of sense:

Hope he heals well and quickly! Seemed like he had a chance to take over the job.

I have heard the same from other DOCTORS that needed shoulder, knee and hip surgeries ! Unfortunately, the general public does not do enough research to ensure the best possible outcome. Glad you had a great outcome ! A good friend , who is an anesthesiologist , had both shoulders done - back to normal with very short re- hab stints . I know several others that say they would not have the surgery again ! You can be sure that a Professional athlete is going to get the best surgeon and rehab available anywhere in the world !

Hope he got it somewhere far away from Corvallis. I have had great success with a shoulder surgery performed here in town by Dr. Wobig. Just curious, what makes some of you think Corvallis docs suck? Pull ups, tennis, landscaping, weightlifting, throwing a baseball, etc. I have had no issues with my repaired shoulder.

I think the bad rep started many years ago, won't say who but old timers probably know. I had a knee surgery performed by the doc not to be named and it was a waste. The next doc I went to was appalled. Found out later from a friend that works in the hospital I should have talked to him first, he would have told me to try someone else.

Shoulders are a very difficult surgery. MLB pitchers receive some of the best shoulder care in the world. Yet very, very few of them ever return to form, or even close to form, once they suffer a shoulder injury.
Roy Halladay had shoulder surgery in 2013. He received the best care possible. Still couldn't save his career.

Not sure where you are getting this from, but to my knowledge athletes who have needed shoulder surgery in the last 10-15 years at OSU have had plenty of success. Canfield and Moevao come to mind, Canfield especially who at the time was told he may never be able to play quarterback again after his injury and ended up with one of the best seasons as a passer in OSU history before he was done. Lyle also gave an interview with the GT where he stated how thankful he was for the OSU orthopedic staff. OSU has a very capable surgeon whose reputation in town is nothing but positive from every person I've talked to.
Now, there are surgeons in town who do NOT do a good job, but they are not treating OSU athletes.

For the love of God people! It was an off the cuff statement from things long ago. Are you all Pr folks for the Corvallis surgeon alliance or something?
