Pitches thrown
Friday: Abel 83 / Frisch 52 / Verburg 24 / Mundt 19 / Mulholland 9
Saturday: Hjerpe 93 / Washburn 13 / Watkins 41 / Mulholland 15
Sunday(1): Pfennigs 102 / Burns 35 / Salgado 12 / Washburn 8 / Verburg 13
Sunday (2): Townsend 75 / Frisch 20 / Mundt 30 / Mullholland 9 / Verburg 4
Seems to me we have Washburn, Salgado for sure. Mullholland and Verburg likely. Mundt was pretty stress free yesterday, assume he's in the mix. Burns and Frisch on standby? I don't see us using Abel given coming off of TJ. Sebby and Lattery haven't pitched since LMU end of April. Do we know if they are on playoff roster?
Salgado generally hasn't been called on to go very long, now would sure be a good time for him to roll for 3 innings.
My other radical idea (hear me out here) - is for us to put up 12 runs early and not have to worry too much about it.

Old school Cincinnati Reds style "Nasty Boys" time. 2 innings each reliever let's go!!!

It is too bad that the playoff roster is always such a secret. By my count we've used 24 players leaving 3 that haven't seen any action. I assume one of those is Kyler McMahan. Another is one of the backup catchers. Leaving just one of the spots for a pitcher.

So who will we see from DBU? Day 4 starters have been Petite and Eldred. Didn't look like they did well latter part of season. Any chance they put Hamel in?

Both teams will use Johnny Allstaff. It may come down to defense and smart base running.

So who will we see from DBU? Day 4 starters have been Petite and Eldred. Didn't look like they did well latter part of season. Any chance they put Hamel in? If it makes sense. In 2007, Joe Paterson threw 6 and then came back on two days' rest to throw 3.2 innings (and then came back the next night and threw another 3, because the dude had a crazy rubber arm). Mike Stutes also threw 6.1 innings and then came back on two days' rest to throw 4.1 innings. In 2014, Andrew Morales threw 7 and then came back on two days' rest to throw 4.1 innings. Abel has shown himself to have a rubber arm. I could see him eating up 3-4 innings at some point. I still think that that a better use of Abel would be to save him for the Super Regional, though. If he throws today, I would save him for game three.
