In what was thought to be the #1 vs #2 team dual in this short season, CV rolled through Thurston 51-11 last night.
One pretty big match of note. James Rowley beat Asher Ruchti 5-4 at 182. Still hoping we can land Rowley but I think Ruchti has a pretty bright future for us!

Pretty good video of the match on Thurston's FB page. Rowley definitely didn't dominate.

Two Nationally ranked Oregon boys going at it and it has to be watched on FB. At least they are getting to wrestle. Hopefully Oregon has some sort of State Tournament.
Add Rowley to Reyes, Harvey & Ruchti...probably missed a couple, what a group!
And what about the two Sophomores, Walters & Halstead @ 195. They are young and Walters is very good! Hopefully he is on the radar!

Rowley did not dominate but was not in danger of loosing.He looked about half effort and he can be inconsistent at times. Kodiak Stephens and Rowley are much better raw athelets than Ruchti but i have hopes the staff can develop them all. The youngest Lamer and walters look impressive but neither had a challenge.

One guy flying under the radar that deserves a look is Monroy. Resko is no slouch and he teched him. He won western regionals and has had some solid matches against good competition. He lost 7-3 to stud out of WA that I hope we are also looking at - Hamblin - who is nationally ranked.

Unfortunately Monroy is signed with SOU. Originally with St. Mary’s then to Southern. He is wrestling tough.
It will be interesting to see where some of the CV/Thurston match ups end up in a couple weeks at the 5A State Tournament.
