Can’t say enough about Cooper’s performance tonight! Wow! Cooper brought it tonight. I’m excited to watch him on Friday’s next year. Really hoping he can make a similar jump like Heimlich did from his 2nd to 3rd year. If we don’t lose him to the draft.

Hjerpe has really good stuff and a funky delivery.....I like some combo of him, Washburn, and Pfennings as weekend rotation

Happy for the win. Good for mullholland but still would rather have Some body else in that situation.

I really liked our outfield tonight. Sure, McMahon still didn’t get a hit, but he backed up Meckler in left very well.

Who did you want to see instead? Salgado or Watkins Mully is 13-2 in saves this year, and both Salgado and Chase have had their Oops moments. It may not always be pretty but give me Gramps with the game on the line.

In the past, Molly seemed to have a strikeout pitch whenever he had 2 strikes on almost anyone. This year , either he is missing his spots or he lost that pitch ! So, I get really nervous from 0-2 through to 3-2 - and the 9th was a perfect example of that !

Hjerpe won't be draft eligible untill 2022.
However, we could see Jake Pfennigs taken next month - he is 21 and draft elgible.

Mully is 13-2 in saves this year, and both Salgado and Chase have had their Oops moments. It may not always be pretty but give me Gramps with the game on the line. 13-3 (BS's against Irvine, UCLA and Arizona State, all on the road). The problem is that Mully started a perfect 9-0 and has gone 4-3 since, and the 4-3 is all in the past month. Mully's stats: One month ago: 9 Saves, 18.1 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 14 K, 4 BB, 0 2B, 0 HR, 0 WP, 0.52 ERA and 0.60 WHIP In the month since: 4 Saves, 8.2 IP, 14 H, 9 R, 9 ER, 8 K, 5 BB, 2 2B, 1 HR, 1 WP, 9.35 ERA and 2.19 WHIP Mully was lights' out for the first two months. The last month has been rough. It is not every game, but, since the California series, every third game has been garbage. Everything is wrong. Mully's control is not as good. Mully is getting hit and hit hard. Putting Mully in against Irvine made sense, because the next two were lefties. But Mully gave up a base hit, wild pitch and fly out, which advanced the runner to third. Mully then gave up the RBI base hit to a righty to blow the save. Fortunately, Casey, Army, Meckler and Gretler combined for two runs in the 11th to give Mully his second win. Against UCLA, Salgado came in and threw eight balls in his first nine pitches, so he was pulled in favor of Mully. F8, K, BB and F4 to end the threat. In the ninth, though, UCLA sent up a righty, lefty, lefty, righty and lefty. Mully got the righty. Then, he gave up a base hit up the middle. Mully fell behind the next lefty and gave up a second consecutive base hit. He gave up a base hit to the righty. He went up 1-2 against the final lefty but threw three straight balls to walk in a run and exited witha three-run lead. Washburn came in and struck out the first batter on three pitches and then gave up a bases-clearing double to knot the game at five. The 40 pitches against UCLA is the most that Mully has thrown since picking up a loss against San Diego State in the truncated 2020 season. Bringing in Mully against Arizona State made sense, because the Devils went lefty, righty and lefty to start the ninth. Mully struck out the first lefty, but the righty hit one to left on the next pitch. The lefty hit the the pitch two pitches later up the middle to put runners on the corner. After that, the next two hitters were the right-handed three-hitter and cleanup hitter, and they singled and homered.
