Moved up to 19 in RPI. If we can win next two series (big ask I know), we are still a potential top 16 seed. Actually, not a big ask. Friday's game was a fluke. It was a coin toss that landed wrong. Yesterday was a true loss and today was a true win. Friday was weird. The series could've been ours. Stanford lost 2 out of 3 to Cal this weekend. Arizona plays well at High Corbett, where the ball shoots through the infield at a 100 mph. Neither of these teams are invincible if we hit well.

Starting to get a bit excited about (covid)Freshman Justin Boyd.
Came in highly touted. Don't think he played in 2020 (?).....Since 4/30/2021 (at UCLA) he's 5 for 15 at the plate and has shown excellent game-sense / field-sense.

Boyd and Froehmke are two guys I’m very intrigued about in terms of their potential to be impact bats in 2022 (and maybe even the next couple weeks).

Even though I was doing a massive amounts of hand wringing I am sure feeling a lot better. We were within a half a dozens pitches of winning that series. ASU Pitching sure was nothing special. I look for KA to stuff some Bats next Friday. Shocking a bunch of people. Game on! Hitting much better we have a real shot. Go Beav's!

Forrester went hitless in Arizona and USC. Something must be wrong. Everyone else padding their HR stats, but our Donkey couldn't. He's a freshman in his first college baseball season, which is big jump from high school/travel ball. I wouldn't be surprised if he's a little tired. However, he's not getting blown away in the batters box with a bunch of K's. I might bump him down in the order, but I'm still "running him out there." Nice points. Unlike Jones and McMahon, he faces pitchers with a lot more confidence and a lot more potential. And most of the time, he plays a strong 1B. When he breaks out of his slump, someone is going to pay. Let's hope it's soon.

And he looked pretty good out there. Let's play him!

We really miss Melton, I am hoping (almost against hope given that again we are left like mushrooms in understanding when he might come back.

Donkey has been late with swing for couple of weeks now. He really isn't stinging ball like he was. Maybe all the games at 1st have worn him down. He is still hard to strike out and manages to get the ball in play. Like Donkey a lot and think he could be a great one for us.

So the reports of our demise were indeed premature. Great job of flushing yesterday and sticking it up their keisters. Does this mean we are now tournament-worthy, at 15 games over .500, four over .500 in league and 16-10 in road/neutral games? Just asking for a friend. The next two series are tougher than this one......we need two wins to stay in the post season is how I see it....hopefully we can get there Two out of six games?

That always worked for us back in the day.

Yeah I know it’s a bit pessimistic but reality shows we have only been able to get one win at best versus ranked teams....I would love to see the Beavs win this next series,,,actually both series (Arizona and Stanford) ....anything is possible but we gotta stop the bleeding like the Friday UCLA and ASU games
