Over reliance on the closer. He obviously didn't have it tonight. Really didn't get an out with his pitching. Needed to be pulled. He isn't as dominant as he once was and I don't have an answer as to why. Need to stay with the hot thrower.

Mully does not have FB and if his breaking ball is off he gets hammered. I still can't believe we screw up game after game we should have won. This Pitching Staff has Arms but they sure as hell are not progressing. There I said it.
Pathetic loss!

How much longer is reputation going to keep Mulholland as a closer. He just doesn’t have any ability to miss bats.

When will Mitch Canham learn? Kept make bad decisions like in the Little League. It happened again and again and never learn in his 2nd year of 5 year contract. Pat, please come back and coach again.

A HBP and 3 singles, brutal start for Mully Worse end for Mully. The announcers even said, the guys coming up, hammer on lefties. We must not do too much scouting. Holy moly.

It's the same with Abel as Friday starter.....it's on rep Abel pitched very well after the rough start. Hjerpe has had 2 very rough outings in his last 3 starts. Pfennigs is still on limited pitches because of the injury. Rather than just shooting s%#t, who do you start on Friday?

My point stands that Abel is not a Friday night guy.... "rough start" is generous....that was a horrible start, and the damage was done.....settling in after giving up 4 runs is kinda too late. Seem

Who woulda thought that hitting would be our strength, and our pitching staff would blow so many games, coming into the season?

Kevin Abel was one pitch away from having an excellent game last night. The pitch that Swift hit out. I think Irimi viewed the pitch as catching too much of the plate. I would like to see a replay of that pitch. Under the hands to the handle is the best pitch in baseball. I still cant believe Swift hit it out because the ball was definitely not on the barrel from my viewing.

And Mully induced the grounder to short that 9 times out of 10 is the double play to end the game. It’s baseball, fellas.

you have Salgado, you have Verburg, you have Mundt, and a pitcher that gave up a run already the prior inning. All we can hope for is failed bunt, and two strike outs or a double play. Frisch has been the best guy out of the pen for a month. Great second guessing. World class second guessing, in fact. Prior to Friday nights game, Frisch had walked 16 in 48 innings pitched (1 per 3 innings). In his previous 4 appearances he'd walked 4 in 12 IP (1 per 3 innings). He walked 3 in 1.0 inning pitched last night.
